I know. I don't get what that is. It looks bad. I have Bomb almost fully geared and Warrior PvP gear, while plain, doesn't look that bad. Shaman is another one where its plain but not bad. Kinda sucks that PvPers have to wait till end expansion to get good looking gear where PvEers get nice shinys in their first tier. Shaman is so much fun. I love Enhancement so much that I dropped my Resto spec and swapped it for a second Enhancement one. So now I have a PvE Enhancement spec and a PvP Enhancement spec. I was beating on dudes left and right last night in Eye Of the Storm. It does lack some survivability but it makes up for it in damage. I can go in and start smacking dudes with my hammers and if I get rooted or snared by a Frost Mage or Boomkin I can still hurt them with shock spells and Lightning bolts. I killed a cocky Mage last night who thought he could Frost Nova me and DPS me down from afar. Silly Mage. Should have at least stood behind me to do that.

The first one is "Please, help yourself to a kidney!" and the second is called a chastity belt.

Death Knight PvP gear isn't too bad looking. I'm kinda iffy on the helmet though. One I really like is Warlock. Check that one out if you can.

I found some rogue resil gear on the AH, like you suggested Norfy. It's gonna be expensive to buy the entire set, but it's much better start for my PvP career. I did some testing yesterday, and in the entire PvP set purchased with CP, I could potentially have about 4000 Resil. If my calculations are correct, which isn't likely, I could have up to a 60% damage mitigation from damaging attacks, then whatever my armor rating is as well. But that set is gonna be hard as hell to earn.

With full Honor gear, and my one conquest wand I am sitting on a little over 3000 Resilience. As a cloth wearer I survive pretty well.
I would suggest if you are going to buy the PvP gear on auction to not buy the shoulders and gloves. Those both cost only 1650 honor and should be the first you purchase from the honor vendor. The rest of the set costs 2200. I would also suggest picking up a level 80 PvP trinket that annuls movement debuffs and use that until you have a full set of PvP gear and can replace it with the level 85 version. The level 80 version is like only a couple hundred honor and it has resilience on it. If you do your daily BG you will slowly start to accumulate Conquest Points. Most of what can be bought with CP is too expensive with only 25 per day coming to you but once you get 700 you can atleast buy a throwing weapon.
I would also suggest doing your Tol Barad dailies. Once you hit revered status you can purchase weapons from the vendor and he has daggers for you. Bomb is currently using the two handed sword from there. The weapons don't have resilience but they are the best weapons you can get for PvP without having to do dungeons.

Looks like I will eventually made my rogue a human. I fired off two emails to two rogue experts, and it's possible one of my emails inadvertently caused some race statistics to be updated. I've seen from two sources now, human is THE superior PvP race for alliance, due to the reduced cooldown of EMFHS. I know to most people it's no big deal, but it is to me, since I'm such a min maxer. I'm not doing this any time soon though. With Smokey's sickness, money is now tight. But it's something to look forward to, I guess.

All these race changes have got to be costly as hell. Why not just stick to gnome. Perfection isn't everything. How you play the class is more important than race.

This is why I hate the game. All these people saying you have to have this perfect thing in order to be good and stuff. Just play the game and have fun.
In Vanilla WoW, my priest was a Night Elf. Everyone got soooo mad at me because I did not have a Dwarf priest. At the time they had a racial that removed a debuff. Yes it was awesome, but I did not want to play a stupid Dwarf. But you know what? I could out heal a ton of those stupid dwarves and heal through the debuffs. I adapted and improved myself and people realized I was a damn good healer. (Poor Vortia, she ended up rotting on some other server, I dont even remember!)
Anyway, rant over. Dont waste money to get the most super mega awesome PVP stats and stuff.

They balance racials better now so that its not as big of a deal to play a specific race as whatever class. They've also removed the race/class specific abilities so everyone can have them now. Desperate Prayer used to be human priest only and now everyone can use it. Which is a great idea.

I've already said this, but you're paying $10-$25 for what's going to amount to MAYBE 40 points in a stat at 85. Which, by that point, gear is giving you +300 and up. This isn't like Oblivion where all you gotta do is spend time to remake your character, you're spending money. You need to be careful.
It's this precise thinking why I quit WoW in the first place. People are so concerned over stats that it drives them to be their sole purpose in the game. And no, that's not why everyone plays a MMO. It's why I don't enchant/gem gear I KNOW I'm going to replace. They give about 20ish points for an absurd amount of money and a few days later I'd simply replace it. And those 20ish points didn't amount to anything!
This is also why I refuse to PvP. Ben's a good example. He expects me to enchant/gem/reforge all the PvP gear he bought me to utter perfection when I still haven't even agreed to do anything PvP-wise with him. He has 100k gold and I'm supposed to spend it out of my pocket for what amounts to maybe 2k more health and maybe a percent or two in resilience. When your opponent hits for 40k, who the fuck cares!
Just play the game and don't worry so much about all these minor things or you're going to turn the game into a job.

And this is where you and I disagree- I enjoy what I do. I enjoy min-maxing. And I enjoy PvP. This is how I play, I want to be the best rogue I can possibly be. I want to be GOOD at something, for once. I do this sort of behavior in every game, I will tailor my character to be the best class he/she can be. I would have killed for a race change in FFXI. It's easy for someone looking into someone else's life and point out things you think they are doing wrong. I think my mother is an idiot for spending hundreds of dollars a month on cigarettes. But she doesn't see it that way, she sees it as something she enjoys, and is therefore worth the money. This is how I view the game. It may seem like a waste to others, but to me, it's worth it, because it's something I enjoy. I enjoy my race changes, name changes, server transfers, all that. I enjoy them. Anyways, end rant. And I still love you, no hard feelings. At any rate, it's not happening any time soon. No monies, after Smokey's vet bill. I also wanna wait a bit after 4.0.6 to see what they "Oh shit" and nerf. That change to Blade Flurry is gonna be one of em. Seriously, you need to hit Ben over the head with a 2x4 and tell him "I. DON'T. FUCKING. LIKE. PVP." Maybe that would get it across to him. I think you need to wave the "I'm going to quit" sign at him again as well.
