I never had the patience for gardening... when I did try it, my plants died 9/10 times, because I wasn't attentive enough. The whole do such and such on a certain day irritated me too, because I found myself waiting for hours because I narrowly missed waterday... this is also why I never got a craft to a substantial level. Also, congrats on the Scorpion Harness +1. Very nice item for a melee RDM.

How are you getting up to rank 10 with Yhazors? I remember you always kinda shying away from groups and I'm sure those missions require them. Did you find a linkshell to help or something? I'm just curious.

I stuck with that Almandine group for a while. you know, the one that wont allow you to cuss, or say God? There was a huge shake up, and then a huge walk off, that split into the Walking Wounded LS. The one that runs that LS and his wife, do runs on something at least each day. Like "who doenst have an NPC?, lets get you one" or Who needs COP missons. Lets start at 1/1 and move on. and they pick up people as they reach each misson. They did sandy missons, and had moved onto Bastok. I knew Yha had been left at 7 in Bastok, and took the chance. She is about to do the Diablos fight, so she can warp to sky as well.
The new LS group has turned out to be great, and instead of yha hanging around and helping, helping, helping all day, she is able to jump in and get some of her own work done.
My concentration is gonna be on Dejibo for a bit. She is 25 and needs to hit 30. After that she can unlock some of those advanced sub jobs. Because of all of the help she was able to get a great foundation under her.
I generally HATE parites, and was in one the other night that was a perfect example of why. We were on the beach trying to get rubies to drop. Bunch of treasure hunters showed up and were raping the beach. They said they had rubies in treasure. just join their party, take the rubies, and jump out. Ok we did that. One doofus in our party didnt pass on all the blood in treasure box and ended up being alloted two. After party disbanded leader came to me. Said the doofus stole 2 bloods. he wants them back. I asked Doofus, and he said he didnt get any blood from them. I re read text and he clearly got 4 but other party only seeking 2 back. I gave 2 out of my own pocket to end it. Wont ever party with doofus again. He LIED! I dont like playing in duuuuude parties, or with aggressive teenagers.
The new LS is more people in their late 20s and thirties, so its more mature, but not so strict. I am finally doing things, and going places that I couldnt do/go alone.

The strictness of the other LS killed me. Also, when I was on, a lot of times no one was talking, and I really didn't feel like I fit into it. That's why I stopped using it, I just couldn't get interested in the community. Also bugged me that I tried to join their CoP static, but I couldn't ever get an answer from anyone if it was alright if Yha and Yue tried to join. I also hate to party, still. That's what I like about WoW, I don't have to party to get somewhere. Caller and I still make the uber get anything done team in WoW too, so if something REALLY has to be done, we can band together and kick it's ass.

And every now and then Raylu comes in to lolhealz u guyz!!11:D
I'm glad you are doing stuff and seeing stuff you couldn't before Dej. I know if i was in that LS I would leave too. I need to be able to swear. Sure if I'm in a guild/linkshell I don't do it nearly as much as when I'm talking to just you guys but sometimes a little swear word can help vocalize what needs to be said. Even if it isn't completly out of anger, cause most times, it isn't.

We're a buncha foul mouthed little monkies! I don't curse as much around people I don't know. I may say something like damn or hell, but that's about it. If I'm with us, however... whooo boy.

September Version Update Preview: Part Two (09/03/2008) by Boza Yesterday at 8:29 pm
Adventurers of all stripes can look forward to enhancements galore in the upcoming September version update, designed to make questing in Vana'diel more gratifying than ever!
If the first preview wasn't enough to whet your appetite, today we have the latest scoop on increased experience and the Myriad Arms of Balrahn quest sequence that will at long last allow players to forge these mysterious and highly anticipated mythic weapons.
Experience Boost
Loyal readers already know that the new Level Sync system and automatic scaling-down of equipment will add a heretofore unheard-of level of freedom to party-based adventuring, but that isn't the least of it! With the new version update, there will be more experience to be had as well!
Previously, enemies classified as "easy prey" or "a decent challenge" would provide a relatively paltry amount of experience points, leaving career-minded adventurers understandably dismayed. No more, however! Vanquishing these monsters will now lead to substantially larger helpings of EXP, to better reward players for braving the challenges these still-formidable foes present.
WOO HOOO more exp from EP mobs! sweet!

Well, they're getting the message. How much extra EXP are we talking about here, I wonder? More exp for EP and DC mobs may make the game more solo friendly, depending on just how much extra they are adding.

More exp for EP and DC mobs may make the game more solo friendly, depending on just how much extra they are adding. Yes, and no. Remember fighting DCs solo? Kicked your ass. Hell, some Too Weaks could kick your ass. That's the problem with soloing in XI, not the pittance in exp (though that didn't help), but rather the mobs' stats were designed with *parties* in mind, and it just makes it far too difficult for most jobs to solo. This, however, will cause the biggest flock to BST and NIN the game has seen since jug pets suddenly no longer caused an exp loss. I'm guessing DCs will give 100 exp and EPs will give around 70. Give or take.

they said a Sub stantial boost in EXP. And yes some EP can kick your ass, but that depends on your job. Mages are not great fighters. Even Red mage can survive a DC but its a challenge. Theif/Monk/Warr style jobs can easily survive a DC or EM and handle many toughs. solo. White mage cannot survive an EP unless it has low evasion and low defense. An EP with high evasion OR high defense can easily rip up a WM.
I am looking for ward to the update so that I dont have to change gear everytime I go into a leveled down area, or a BCNM area that is leveled down. I frequently take yha out to help others do BCNMs and am tired of having an extra set of clothes in my pocket.
Took Dejibo out and am leveling her theif. I got MNK to 16 and White to 16 and Red to 25. Black is still at 5 and War is still at 1 (mybloodport job) but theif has proven so handy on Yha. I take her out as red/theif and rubies fall from the sky. its amazing. Warding oil was so easy to get once I subbed theif. I am gonna have to level up her theif since its only at 34. fine for her 68 red, but one step further and its uneven.
So, Sept update promises all kinds of great things from sync play to downgradable armor, to bigger exp for EP/DC mobs. wootga! come on back you guys. I have pink pearls waiting for you. I will come back and tell you after the update if its better or just a small bump.

The update happens today. i will let you know what my experiments find out.
I got a cyan chip to do diablos COP 3-5. it was quick to get. First spider in the door. blink! all mine! I killed toonberry's and bats till I got a Pso XJa key, and when i tried to open the dang treasure box it tried to kill my ass! I reposed it, and escaped. bastard!
I have most mules doing gardens now. good money. Abacia is back to being the storage whore. She has mog locker access now and all those storage commodes, and cabinets. nice!

CoP missions were fun. The farming for them were not. Well, it didn't help the drop rates were HORRENDOUS until they kept tweaking them. I'd probably would do it again, but not with random people. Only because it puts my patience to a test already!
...Not like I can help anyway, but if I were still alive!

Well once they tweak this new exp system and level synch I may be back. I'm liking what I see with EPs giving 80 exp. The Level Synch isn't perfect yet, as it appears some gear is keeping all the negative stats while getting rid of the positive ones. Kinda defeats the purpose...but y'know.
But again, I gotta wait til a Return to Vana'diel campaign, and, I gotta wait til November when my WoW subscription ends. And before that, I gotta wait til the next update to fix their flubbs with this one.
Of course though that's not the only thing keeping me out. I'm NOT looking forward to farming again, and I don't have the ability to garden because I can't watch clocks thanks to pesky work. -.- Still, we'll see. I miss things like missions. WoWs just repeat the same three types ad nauseum.

Well you know you never did instances that much. Instances are the "meat" of WoW just like missions are the "meat" of FF.
I honestly don't know why anyone would want a solo friendly MMO. Thats one big gripe I have with WoW, is that it is way too solo friendly. I guess I just don't see the point of playing an online game if you're just going to solo anyways. Doesn't it just defeat the purpose of the game?

One reason:
Waiting to play a game is retarded.
I'd still mostly be doing party play in FFXI, but since I end up soloing (duoing) on most jobs anyway to at least 20, this only makes it easier. I do that because most of the jobs don't get a job defining trait til about 20-25 anyway (and the dunes suck). I don't want to JUST solo, I want the option to do so. Which is why I took to WoW so quickly. The option for both was there. What's becoming obvious in that game though is that the ONLY, the single ONLY, reason you do instances and group is to get drops. The game is just virtual barbie doll. I only stayed as long as I did because I got to play with you guys again, but I'm just getting bored and barely logging on.
As far as wanting merely solo content, I very much liked Dynamis (minus the random exploding statues) and Salvage had its moments (but not much) and I adored Assault. All party intensive things. But it took me almost 3 years to get to 75 because of the waiting (and of course my ADD didn't help). There is NO reason for that. Another problem FFXI has is that it requires absolute perfection and massive amount of time to get anything. That, slowly, is starting to change.
Basically what this is coming down to is my personal preference, but either way, WoW is boring me, and I'm not going to keep paying for something that I don't play. Which is not a definitive argument to go back to FFXI mind you, as I'm still debating.
