We're trying to do Nyzul Isle too. We have a decent team, but Tri seems to doubt his ability to lead it. But we all want to do it.
Papea joined me in my trial today. He's 99 so he was tearing stuff up, but I still was able to get my weapon skills off. We killed some NM named Unut (seriously) too. Dropped a shitton of rabbit hides and gil. Disappointed, there was two thieves on him and that's what he dropped? XD
I'm about at the half way mark in the Evisceration trial. Maybe I can complete it tonight or tomorrow. I hope so.

Nyzul is easy except for the Lamps. The lamps are always the worst floors. But if you expect to make any significant progress, higher than lv 75 is preferred these days. Lv99s can tear through 10 floors at a time if you're efficient, and you won't even need significant healing.
If you still want a challenge with Nyzul at 99, the new Nyzul can offer that, but it's fairly tedious.

Finished Evis trial, and got the Fusetto before it turns into the +1 I think. Of course, now I can wear the +1...
I got 86, and completed limit breaks up to 95. Will try to get 95 tonight.
Had a bit of a fallout in the LS over Dynamis (again) last night, and I don't wanna be sitting on my ass, not pulling my weight.
I swear, Dyna seems to cause issues every time we do it, someone gets their knickers in a knot. -.-

...why? Dynamis is one of the easiest things in the game right now and a huge ass money maker...Been playing around the idea of leveling BST so Kari and I can get the damn clears in there already...

Good question... I have no idea why it turns ugly every damned time. I just know I'm sick of it. I still need clears for Jeuno and Bastok before I can get into Beaucedine and Xarcabard. Need dem THF gauntlets!
Same here, I gotta level BST so I can do a variety of things. I'm the only non-BST in the LS. >.>

Got my store TP +100 katana. It's unbelievably strong. Still have two more trials to go, but won't be nearly as bad as the last one.

Was playing around doing the TP+100 spear because of Stardiver but really, that WS needs attack more than anything because of its massive attack penalty. There is, however, a possible perk in getting it, in how Stardiver's TP modifier works:
At 100% TP, each hit of Stardiver does 75% normal damage At 200% TP, each does 84% normal damage At 300% TP, each does 93% normal damage
The catch is, and this is what makes Stardiver so powerful, is that the fTP of the first hit is then duplicated for each successive hit. This means that attack is extremely important for this WS because a boosted attack is going to give this WS a significant edge.
So, if you do the WS at 100% TP, you lose 25% of your attack for the first hit, then 12.5% for the second, 6.25% for the third, and 3.125% for the fourth. Stardiver isn't great at 100%, in other words. But:
At 200% TP, you lose 16% of your attack on the first, 8% on the second, 4% third, and 2% fourth.
At 300% TP, you lose 7% of your attack on the first, 3.5% on second, 1.75% on third, and .875% on the fourth.
But here's how that works. Your damage is calculated *after all hits land.* In other words, if all hits of Stardiver land at 300% TP, ALL FOUR ATTACKS land at 98% normal attack, and THAT doesn't take into account the STR modifier or any applicable gorgets and torques, which is *also* doubled for each hit. No other multi-hit WS does this. No matter what, there will be an attack penalty on this WS, but with boosted attack and high TP, it's deadly.
Problem is that enemies with high DEF make this WS suck outright, so the whole thing is moot. Granted that really only applies to certain NMs and events, but since Voidwalker is the "thing" these days, that kinda dampens it. So I don't know if I should go for +Attack or the TP Bonus spear. Not to mention besides Drakesbane (which is a critical modifier), and to some extent Skewer (also critical modifier) the polearm WSs don't benefit much from TP. Camlainn's Torment benefits greatly from TP but well, obviously you need to have that spear equipped to use it so uh, yeah.

So, you're suddenly a dragoon now? Job ADHD. I'm gonna stay with THF until I get 99 and cap out all my merits, and get the cobra harness set, I refuse to level DNC until I get it. I'm wearing a mix of Haste gear, and Store TP gear on slots that I can't get haste in. Also currently working towards this: Fuzzy ass may do THF, DNC, and BRD first, then RNG and COR, then NIN. Kitty jobs. Okay, BRD isn't really a kitty job, but hey, if I'm gonna do all this dagger stuff, why not level it? I'll have magic skill merits that won't be used anyways. Bought a pair of striders. Was gonna get the new Areion boots, but... I don't exactly plan on wearing striders during combat. Therefore the Flee latent is useless. I feel guilty for dropping that much cash, but maybe I can get trotters after I get THF to 99. Maybe. Anyways... Advice? What the hell do Thieves do in end game now days anyways? Are we still hate managers? Hell, for that matter, what merits should I get? Will be on AIM if Mr. Taru would like to give this rookie THF some sage advice.

Evasion dagger isn't a bad choice because it'll supplement THF's naturally high evasion...but it's really really easy to get evasion gear as a THF so keep that in mind because it'll be expensive to get that dagger. Breeze Geodes and Garudites are pricey. I gave up on the WS dmg+ dagger because its base damage is shit. I just recently got the Twilight Knife, so I use wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Aluh_Jambiyawiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Twilight_Knifewiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Oynos_Knifealmost full time. I switch out the Oynos once Haste procs. The good dagger WSs are Evisceration, Dancing Edge and Exenterator. Exenterator has no TP modifier, Dancing Edge's is accuracy modified (and if you're geared correctly that won't be an issue) and Evisceration is Crit modified. Also, Evisceration is unreliable outside of Abyssea. A TP Bonus dagger will not help very substantially. Only Rudra's Storm will benefit from TP Bonus but, like Camlainn, you have to have the Empyrian equipped to use it. Daggers that attack more than once will significantly help TP gain, but the damage on them is so low that you get more use out of other daggers. They're excellent on weaker enemies of course, but that's about it. But here's the catch: "occasionally attacks x" procs *cannot* proc on Weapon Skills so you're really only using those to fuel TP spam...but the thing is a Haste capped THF will attack at near hundred fist speeds. I am speaking from first hand experience, it is *awesome.* Thusly, a high damage dagger will trump most others. It's not easy to Haste cap unless you start doing some endgame stuff though so this may be a good choice for you. I'm not impressed with any of the Dagger trials because even AH daggers blow them away. Plus you can get Yataghan's for free in Abyssea Altepa with the potential of +crit dmg augments on them in addition to their +9 evasion if you absolutely need evasion. I'm probably a little skewed since I play THF as DPS and the occasional blink tank.

Well, I went AGI cuz Exenterator is AGI modified. The price of the dagger doesn't phase me. Money is easy to come by. Still trying to get a decent Yataghan. I have two with +5% critical damage on em, but damn I want them to have a damage bonus too. I want it all! Thanks for the advice. I hope to do end game at some point, since I already have an end game LS. But we'll see. Spent some time with my buddy Pap last night. We duoed Sand Sweepers in Aby Altepa... well I should say he soloed, I soaked up Meltdown damage since neither of us could stun. Eventually a RDM joined us, then a DRK, then another DRK and the next thing I know, we had a full party, and then I invited other parties to join us, and we had a decent EXP group going. We had a Galka MNK and Taru DRK that were just mauling shit. Made quick work of those critters. Found out that Pap has all jobs at 99 and capped merits. Dunno why he was there, though he was helping me out by asking me to come since I got several dagger skill levels, which I needed. I got 89 out of the group. I can wear the brokeback britches now, but I'm a little uncomfortable with the -8 Acc. I think I'm gonna wait on them, because I'm very close to THF pants +1. Just need someone to help me kill that damned spider again for one more seal. Or hop a seal party.

Though late, yes I've been to the beach, but everyone takes forever to get up in the morning so I get bored <_<
400ish more lizards and I'll have the final form. Shoha has gone as high as 7k without damage atma on, which is pretty pimp if I say so myself. Its kinda a moot point as I never get to go as a DD since everyone else sucks as whm, but oh well.
I heard the STR dagger is worth getting as well, but I wouldn't even spend the hours upon hours trying to get that.

THF pants +1 are shit compared to the brokeback pants. +2, we'll talk.
-8 is not bad on THF because your DEX is obscene and your crit rate is so high (and crits can't miss). It's a non-issue really.

Oh, at capped dagger I'm sure it's no issue. However, right now, I cannot hit the mobs. Those sand sweepers, I hit about 50% of the time, and it drove me insane. After I cap dagger I'll get em. However, the THF AF3 +1 pants will do until then. What job merits should I invest in? Triple attack rate is a duh, but... what else?
