Its that time again....well...ALMOST that time again. lol. Actually, E3 doesn't start till Monday next week, but I'm starting this thread early. Gamepro.com has posted the schedule for the press conferences. Here's the schedule, with my thoughts: (note: all these times are PST, not sure what it would be in other time zones) Monday 10:30 a.m. Microsoft: I don't have a 360 anymore, but it should still be interesting to hear what they have planned. 12:30 p.m. Square Enix: Looking forward to this alot. I'm hoping they show Chrono Trigger and announce some other stuff. 3 p.m. Electronic Arts: Only game I'm really interested in from EA is My Sims Kingdom. Hope its better then the first one... Tuesday 9 a.m. Nintendo: I may actually be looking forward to this more then Square's conference. The two systems I have now are the Wii and DS, so I'm looking forward to seeing what Nintendo has in store for us this year. I'm hoping for, at least, Animal Crossing Wii. 11:30 a.m. Sony: I am interested in this. I want to see if Sony will finally get their act together or not (lol). And lower their price! lol again. 2: 30 p.m. Ubisoft: Nothing interesting here. 4:30 p.m. Capcom: Resident Evil 5! 7 p.m. Activision (Not part of E3): Nothing interesting here. Wednesday 10:45 a.m. Take Two: Nothing interesting here either. 1 p.m. Entertainment Software Association: ditto. 2:30 p.m. Konami: The new Castlevania DS! Also, hopefully, we'll get to see more of the Castlevania Wii game. So, E3 starts Monday! Ign.com is a good place to keep up with the conferences. Also, G4 will have converage of E3 on Monday & Tuesday. Man, thats about the only time G4 comes handy anymore...lol. Like I said above, I'm looking forward to Square & Nintendo's conferences the most, but I will keep an eye on Sony, Micosoft, and etc conferences. I'll be posting news & comments in this thread next week. Although, there are some pre-E3 things coming out, so maybe I'll post some stuff from that too. Definitly looking to E3! DF2506

Oh wow! So it seems that SE DOES have some stuff up their sleeve that isn't FF related. Way to go

Infinite Undiscovery and The Last Remnant looked pretty decent from their trailers. IU is from Tri-Ace so I mean that right there almost guarantees a good game (so long as they don't go down Radiata Story's path) and Remnant is a turn based game that (although blatantly obviously created solely to counter Lost Odyssey) looks....ok. The art director of that game is FFXI's art director so the one major character is a Norfair clone. SO4 didn't show any gameplay at ALL so it's kinda like "well that doesn't help." I think SE is slowly starting to realize that milking FF7 isn't gonna keep them on top much longer. Apparently the mobile game didn't go too well. Which is kinda why they turned to mooch off of Matsuno's world and the Ivalice Alliance started. And now CT comes back. It doesn't take an analyst to see they're hurting for ideas and to compensate they just keep re-releasing and remaking old, popular games. So I hope their new ones come out well. Frankly if you ask me, Tri-Ace should just take over the reins.

\ Well, the catch 22 is that the old games (remade & not remade) SELL and the new games well, they sell, but not as much. Square is in the biz to make money. They know whats selling right now.
I disagree about Tri-Ace taking over. Of course, I haven't been a huge fan of Tri-Ace's...
Personally, I think the old games (remade & not remade) look alot better then the new games...
Sure, I want to see Square do some awesome new games, BUT if the only thing they can do really well right now is remake their old games...I'm happy with that. I really can't wait for the Final Fantasy 6 remake. Thats going to be great!
That said, if a different developer took over Square, in a dream world I'd want to it be Level 5. Those guys are brillant!
Hmm. I wonder what their up too. Hope we hear something about their new game, White Knight Chronicles, at E3.
I'd also love to see Level 5 do some rpgs for the DS...

I'm looking forward to the Star Ocean stuff. I love the series, and I can't WAIT to get SO1 and SO2 on the PSP. SO4 too, of course, but that requires me to buy an XBOX 360, so, um... yeah. It'll happen, just not any time soon. That Tri-Ace RPG stuff had me interested too. Infinite Undiscovery reminded me a lot of Valkyrie Profile 2 from the screenshots. I'm a fan of Tri-Ace's RPGs though. There's a new Valkyrie Profile game being released for the DS, however I didn't see it's name on that list. I just hope that one day it sees North American shores. Also, I dunno if SE has anything to do with that game either... but it's Valkyrie Profile, that's for sure.

NOT liking that Castlevania art direction....but I'll be getting the game anyways cuz...y'know....it's Castlevania. >_> Once CV went to Kojima for her art they never should've gone back.
I'm very interested in Mega Man 9 though. That was completely unexpected and in a good way. That'll probably be our first WiiWare.

Caller, ya, I'll probably get Mega Man 9 too. Its a bit pricey (1000 points), but its looks cool. Plus I hear there will be Downloadable content for it too (that might be neat).
And I think its great to support something like MM9. Maybe we'll see other developers try projects that deal with 8-bit & 16-bit for Wiiware too (I'd definitly love to see a new 16-bit rpg...lol).
Anyway, two more days till E3!

That would still make it the cheapest [new] Mega Man to date. And it'll probably be better than more than half of the new ones. Not liking this star force crap.

That would still make it the cheapest [new] Mega Man to date. True! I haven't played too many of the other new Mega Man's but from what I've seen, I definitly like the look of the orignal Mega Man's (and Mega Man 9) more. I use to have the Mega Man Anniversary Collection and that was alot of fun (very hard, but still fun). The new Mega Man looks like its going to be very cool. Well, tomorrow is E3 day folks. I'll be paying attention to Square-enix alot tomorrow, but I'll try to post other news (and my comments) here too. Looking forward to it. DF2506
