I am really not sure what I think about this game.
I know it definitely has no place being number 14 in the series though.
Maybe they will fix all the things that bugged me about FF11.

I really wish their online games wouldn't be part of the numerical series. Thats just my opinion. I am not too interested in this game, but in all honesty, I will buy it. I'm not going to say I won't cause I know I will. But I don't think it will last me a long while. When it comes right down to it, its a sequel to a game that I played for four years so how could I not buy it?

Not getting it, cuz my comp can't play it, and I don't own a PS3 or XBox 360 (yet). If I did, maybe I'd be willing to try it out, but... not gonna worry about it.

Keep and eye on www.cheapassgamer.com/ they are always posting deals of the week for games and systems. Maybe you'll see a deal for either system sometime. I can't usew that site since those deals don't go in Canada 90% of the time. But keep checking since you're in the You Ess of Eh

Thanks... but with no job, I can't partake in such deals because I have no cash at all.

I will have to look up the specs to see if THIS computer could handle it. I do have plans on a new one in 2010. I also hope some day for a PS3, but have no idea if its going to be a year or two from now. The price is gonna have to drop before I can.

I think I'm gonna try it but I don't know if I'll keep it. I'm intrigued, I'll admit it. But there were rumors of it being $20/mo on FFXIClopedia so if that's true forget that. <.<
If this is the casual version of FFXI then I'm very excited because that's what I wanted. I left a lot of goals unfulfilled in that game and I still think about going back and doing them (all the AF! ) but it's just not feasible...

$20 better be a joke. Thats insane.
I worry that they are going to pull an Everquest 2 on us. EQ2 was supposed to be its own game at first, separate from EQ1. But it was still the same races, classes, and zones even. Some zones were new but most were just old zones with new graphics.
Now EQ2 is releasing new expansions that basically adds the same content EQ1 has. Its completely stupid. I hope Square doesn't follow this same path.

I'd want it if it was a casual FFXI, it would be perfect for Caller and I to play together. However, I'm not gonna bust ass and worry about getting it. I have no intentions on buying a PS3.
Also heard rumors that it's going to be completely party based at first? Yeah, no thanks.

Where is everyone seeing this party based at first? That makes no sense to me.
How can they force you to party at the beginning? Unless its like the Public quests in Warhammer. Thats technically not grouping but you have a bunch of people working on a mission together.

Prob gonna be just like FFXI... expect to level up past 10? Go to the dunes, join an exp group. Or, whatever, a group that fights monsters together. It's something Caller read, somewhere. It's just how Square-Enix is, they want us to help each other for everything, and in their perfect little world that works, at least they think it should. I can see relying on others for quest and missions, but damn you should at least let people increase their character's stats while playing solo... and not make it absurdly hard.

Well, the way they're describing this new leveling system, you choose a weapon and that WEAPON is what determines your job. For example choosing a Staff will increase your magical powers etc. It's probably going to be similar to FF2 meets SaGa Frontier.
Since you'll have zero skill in any weapon as a new character, you'll need to fulfill a party role to train into that class you want to be.
It's still just theory. They won't say anything about it.

Partying to start out is strange. The first few levels are soloed just so players can get used to the new game and setup of the game. Its the learning part to set the stage for groups.
In any case, I have always had so many ideas on what I would consider to make a great MMO. Some have had similar ideas to me but in the end non of them are perfect XD

We should totally just make our own MMO. Then we could all be happy.
I like the idea of leveling based on what skills you use. Done right, that can be a really nice system. that could mean that I could make a mage and possibly have some strength, or higher HP and be able to survive while being strong with spells.
I hope its something like that.
