RELEASE DATES
Sept 2010 for PC March 2011 for PS3/xbox
I havent played this much at all, as its rare to get a time slot that is available when I am up and awake. I refuse to sit at this computer for days on end waiting for a chance to play for an hour, when I can wait till sept and play all day.

Actually they confirmed there will not be an Xbox version due to Microsoft wanting to control the servers.
I wanted the PS3 version to come out at the same time. I can play it on my mac (Bootcamp even though I hate it) but I don't want to buy it twice. Im hoping I get into beta so I can test it and see if it is something I will play.

There were flying rumors that the PS3 version was delayed so that Sony could tweak their new payment plans for the PSNetwork so that you don't have to pay a double fee. Could be true, and likely is. But at least it's still coming to the system, because that may be the way I go. Dunno yet.

Im not sure I understand. Why would you have to pay a double fee? The PLaystation network is free.

It is now. It won't be soon. They announced that at E3. They're gonna start charging for "premium" services, not unlike Xbox Gold and Silver. Of course in theory will have the same system, a free and pay service.

Ah you mean Playstation Plus. Thats out already. Its actually not like XBox gold, which is a good thing because I was going to be pissed.
Basically it has nothing to do with the ability to play games. It just gives you discounts on games, free games and lots of other goodies. (Still to new to justify purchasing though)
I dont know why the big delay for the PS3 version. I Wish they were coming out on the same day.

I pre ordered the PC version. I got the collectors edition as it comes with the security token, and you get to play 8 days earlier than the standard version and it comes with an onion helmet that reduces the weakened time after a k/o. The normal version comes with sun glasses that increase exp. Since the PS3 version is a normal version and I will have to buy it as well,I figured I would get the onion helm with the PC stuff and the sun glasses with the PS3 stuff.
Wahoo! its coming soon!

That was a neat video Got to see some of the summons. They look somewhat similar to their XI counterparts too which is fitting.
I really can't wait for this game. I'm not gonna preorder though just cause of the fact that its out in September and I might be gone on vacation when its released. I hope when I get back my Metroid names aren't taken.
In any case, one thing I hope they do with this game is give some of the melee classes (or however it works) an ability or two at the start. Mages in XI at least had a spell or two to start the game with but the melee classes just had auto attack and it was boring. I'm not saying the game needs a crap ton of abilities and rotations like WoW does. Thats not it at all. But I would like to play a Warrior type of character and maybe have a special ability with a five second cool down.

I've completely forgotten about this game and realised it comes out in just over a month! Worldwide release too, so it won't be like last time requiring me to buy an American version. xD So, just to confirm, who's planning on picking this up on release? I currently do not have a PC capable of playing this game, but I was planning on buying one some time soon anyways (the fact this game comes out at the end of September has just added another reason to the already big list of reasons for a new computer. ) I don't know what the server situation is like, but I assume we'll plan on being on the same server again? I definitely will not be able to play this like I did XI, but I'll still be on for short periods of time here and there and weekends, so I should be able to get some play time with some of you. Just like the old days!

I'll be getting it on PC but not on launch cause I won't be here. I'll likely be picking it up early October. And if the servers are the same, and they give you a choice this time then yes, I say stick to Bismarck.

It depends upon their payment plans which, to my knowledge, they have not yet released. If it's more than $15 and they charge $1 per character again I'm not going to play for an extended period of time. LotRO becomes free to play soon and that is when I can decide when I can pick up another game. I can guarantee I'll be trying this though. EDIT 12.99 + $1 per character. Called that. EDIT2 Two versions. $50 for regular and you get a set of ruby sunglasses (improves skillup rate) for preordering. And that's pretty much it. $75 for "collectors" and you get an Onion Helmet (reduces weakened time after KO), 30 days free game time, and a bunch of inconsequential crap you can find on YouTube after it's released and pirates have at it. But hey you get your own personalized Adventurer Certificate! Additionally, the collector's version ships 8 days sooner than the regular. I'm not really concerned with that though. I dunno I think I like the specs better. Ideally you won't be dying much, but you'll be skilling up *constantly.* But damn, SE, what the hell is it with you and downtime? You can preorder from these sites na.finalfantasyxiv.com/order/Also it seems like anyone who preorders gets a NPC helper that will store items and sell and buy things...but I may have misunderstood that.
