Okay, so I'm having a bit of trouble ever since I updated my video card's drivers recently. I am using an ATI Radeon HD 4200. Steam said there was an update for it, which I accepted and it installed it for me. I tried to click on what should be the control panel for the video card to adjust the settings... but it won't open. So I uninstalled, and reinstalled the drivers, this time downloaded from the AMD website. Still will not open. I click on the program, it acts like it's loading, and then suddenly just stops. I've had this issue with other programs in the past, always after a driver update. What should I do to fix this? I can't afford to get it repaired, or diagnosed, so I'm hoping to find some advice here. So far, I am incredibly displeased with ATI/AMD video cards. First update worked fine. Second update made it impossible to alter my 3D settings. Third update allowed me to alter them, but it was sort of out of the way. And now with the fourth, I can't even open the damned control panel.

I'm not sure if you're just installing the driver only, but maybe you need to reinstall the Catalyst control center. On ATI's website there should be two options: Driver only and full software package. Do the full and I'm thinking that should solve the problem.
Kayla had an issue similar to this a while back. Is this Windows 7?

Yes it is. I should have installed the full package, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling over and over again, and still no results.
Will try again tomorrow.

I fixed it... found some long, complicated instructions that asked me to get rid of all sorts of files I didn't even know existed. But it appears to be working. >.>
