Holy CRAP. i.imgur.com/Xziys.jpgThey *dramatically* increased exp payout today. Easy Preys give 100ish, Decent Challenge gives about 150ish, Even about 200ish, T-VT gives roughly 240-280 and IT gives 300-400. Mostly depends on what level you are. They did ninja cap exp chains at 10 if you're doing a Fields of Valor quest, but that was kinda needed, people were over camping them. But that picture is a T with an Emperor Band. Good. LORD. |

I think I wanna go back to FFXI now. With EXP like that, LFG won't be nearly as gawful as it used to be. Sorta reminds me of my first SMN burn party in Kuftal. ;D

Isn't that unreal? <.< It's like they finally understood what a grind the game was. ...but at the same time this is gonna have repercussions. XI was always a community game (except PUP), where every job (except PUP) had a role in a party (except PUP). But recently...eh not so much.
When I stop and think, yeah, I miss the game, but I miss playing the jobs. I liked how the combat worked in that game. I'm still thinking about it.

Not only was the game a huge grind but they also increased the level cap to 100. It would be a huge pain going for those levels with the old exp setup. It was bad enough getting to 75. And we did that after they gave us emp bands.

I got PUP to level 3 I think, and quit. So I really don't know anything about the job other what what you've told me. Seemed so damned complicated from your description, that I didn't wanna mess with it.
I'll probably try to come back to the game, if I can. It won't be until sometime in March though.

PUP is unfathomably broken 1-20 if you have the right attachments. The problem is those attachments don't scale. At all. So you're a one-man wrecking crew *plugs ears* at first and then you fall into circus clown status. Literally, once you get the new AF. It comes complete with a harlequin jingle hat and face paint.
There are certain nuances to the job that I was catching on to, like how to influence the automaton to use a specific spell or skill, but it's still a lot of work for something BST can do 1000 times better.

Chain 4 off Korro Tunnel worms gave a group 1044 exp apparently. SMN burns are baaaaack. <.<

I do want to come back, but we'll see. I may not need to go stay with Granny after all, it's completely up to her to decide. If I don't then it will be sooner than March.
Of course, this is if I get permission to use the credit card, because there's no such thing as FFXI game time cards.

This in no way confirms I'm coming back for good, but store.steampowered.com/app/23390/$5 for the whole bundle, complete with all addons? Hells yeah. <.< I bought it. It says it comes with 30 days free play but doubt it works with existing accounts. Let me download and install this and let you guys know if you can even use existing accounts, I've never used Steam before. |

OK so it's the same Viewer so shouldn't be a problem to login with my old account. $5 well spent. Oh, and they updated their updater. It's *FAST.* ...erm, well okay fast for FFXI. The viewer took three minutes to update. Three! Of course now the real test. The game itself. Also, I'm curious to see if the RMT got to my characters, let alone if they're still there. EDIT Game itself takes roughly 3 hours to update. But fair warning if anyone comes back: Secure MasterCard and VerifiedbyVisa ONLY are accepted now, and you're charged an additional $1 every time you change your payment because of it. To my knowledge that's a one time thing though, and after my experiences...yeah I'll pay that $1. |

where every job (except PUP) had a role in a party (except PUP). You're forgetting Dark Knight, Dragoon, Summoner and Samurai. Maybe Beastmaster too. Although in DRK's defense it at least had Stun. |
