Dark Knight got better when they improved the damage of Scythes and made it so all 2H weapons now have pretty much Armor Piercing and accuracy bonuses. 2k Guillotines were normal. Dragoon is one of the better jobs right now because it *never misses.* They have 5 tiers of accuracy bonus *AND* have access to insane attack+ gear. Summoner is the de facto leveling job now thanks to Summoner Burns in Korro but yeah, still healers. Samurai has really risen these days thanks to Abyssea. TP burns are the only way to party now and they have even more TP boosting skills. Beastmaster....has not changed.  |

Thats good to hear for those classes. I never really played Dragoon or Samurai but those two and Dark Knight were pretty much carbon copies of Warrior and Warrior did better it seemed. DRK need Accuracy like mad. They get one attack in every 5 seconds it seems and if it misses, which it often did, then you're a class with high damage potential doing no damage at all. Plus DRKs can equip an offhand accessory now, right? That is an interesting idea too.

Good god I'm remembering why I quit. I have too much SHIT! Yue has all 240 slots full!! >.< I got 30 days free for buying that bundle so I just wanted to make sure my characters were still alive, and happy to say they are, and I still have about a million gil on me. Don't know if that's enough these days but I'll take it. And considering I have pretty much every set from 1-75.... But still can't get into it again, not now. I think I'm just tired of MMOs in general...but if you guys come back I'll play casually for awhile at least. I thought the bundle said it came with the addons but they're not active so I can't level past 75 w/o the Abyssea updates. Not that I'm in a hurry. God it'll take me a friggin week to go through all this shit. I got a nifty little mod that lets PS3 controllers work on PC (unfortunately the motion controls make the thing go bahooties, but I'm working on hacking that out <.<) so it's a little more bearable. I never thought I'd say this but god I miss WoW's keyboard controls. |

abby parties provide MASSIVE EXP quickly. you can go from 75 to 90 in one night if you choose. Please seek out Walking Wounded if you are interested in joining the LS there.
I signed on and used my NPC and on a EP mob I got 120 exp with my NPC and no band! Awesome!
There is a ton of drama surrounding the Abby stuff. Tons of abby parties going on, and plenty of chances to head out, but there are mobs and such that have to be killed with certain order of hits/magic/hits/ and so on. Best to have a good leader and follow along on wikki till you figure it out. I still dont know.
I dont play much anymore. it take 5 hours to sign on, check your del box, reload the AH, change gear, change jobs and so on and then by the time you get to where your party is meeting and wait for them to get there...its 5 hours and you havent hit the first mob! its just sad. ok ok, 5 hours is exaggerating, but its at least 2.

Got a note in the mail from my bank that they are changing my credit card number because of some funny activity from SE! I contacted SE who told me that their data base had been hacked and some passwords got out, but with my security token I should be safe. I said Screw the token! what about my CC#?? they said they had contacted the affected banks and my bank should handle it. GRRRRR!!!!

IF I get back into the game I don't want to join a linkshell right away. Too much to take on at once.
I may drop WoW to come back to FFXI, but I dunno. Caller, you said you got a month free for buying the bundle? Maybe I'll get the bundle and play that free month and see if I still wanna play after that.

Don't fret about the CC, I've had it happen a couple times and it never interrupted service. I don't even pay attention to those warnings.
Yeah you get 30 days free but we'll see how that works with SE's "charge full price at the beginning of the month, no prorates" when March comes around.

I'm gonna drop WoW for at least a month and try out FFXI again. At the end of the month, if I don't feel like playing anymore, not much harm done. I'll just go back to WoW.
Whenever I can finally come back, I will be making a hume female named Yvondith on a new account.
I don't think I want an LS for this first month. I just wanna play with you guys, and get adjusted in the game. If I decide to quit, I can just quit, without feeling guilty about leaving a linkshell too.
Also, that FFXI complete package is now $9.99. >.>

It is too bad that it take so much time and inventory space to prepare for leveling up alt jobs. The multi job system is great but that did make it rather discouraging.

They've been having .hack issues. People can't log out and so they shut down the lobby server and tried to reset it. And failed. They're gonna take the servers down soon and reboot em. |

They had maintenance last night. NO ONE could sign in. They just did a huge update a week ago, and that means you must follow it up with fixes the week after. Its good to go for today. Use Saekeion or Yhamuna. Both are sitting there waiting.

Either Dej or Yue can do this, but I'd like to make my new character ASAP. I think I will be going tarutaru, actually. I got thinking, and I know what I like to do in FFXI, and that is heal. Tarus are really the best healers due to their MP pools, so, taru it is. I am back for the evening, and part of tomorrow, then back to Granny's until Monday. |
