Anyone here ever play Fallout 3? I heard it was a good game and I am kinda curious about it. But watching the videos I am not sure what to think. It kinda looks neat but also doesn't look like my kind of game. And there isn't a demo on Xbox Live so I can't even try it.

I just ordered the rune factory frontier for Wii. I have looked in stores, and its not there. I spoke to the Game stop dude, and he said it was a limited release, and they didnt expect it to be so popular. I ordered it off amazon. Woo! so, 5 business days and I can play Rune too. This looks fun. I LOVE harvest moon, and love Animal crossing, so this should be a great baby game too. I love mah baby games.

Norfair: I use to own Fallout 3 for the PS3. Really good. Even better on Xbox because they got all the dowloadable content and the PS3 owners didn't. Have you ever played Elder Scrolls Obliven? Well, its like Obliven, expect with Guns, a burned out future world (aka sci-fi setting), and...oh heck, its like Obliven, but better. Much better imo. I really like the game. Why don't I have it anymore? Well...cause I wanted Rune Factory. What? I'm not made of money! lol. Dejibo, Rune Factory is very addictive. I hope you like it. Although, I hope even more that you play Animal Crossing again. lol. Anyway, I'm played Animal Crossing today. Visited two towns (one in US, one in UK) Gotta play some Rune Factory sometime tonight. I'll probably play LittleBigPlanet later in the week. DF2506

Maybe I'll give it a rental before I decide to buy it. I heard its a pretty massive game. I like what little I played of Oblivion. I liked how it was a huge open world with lots to do. One thing I didn't like was that the story just kinda opened up with little explanation of what was going on. Like, why am I in prison? Why is the Emperor trying to escape? What is going on? Its like the story started as if you are supposed to know what is going on.

I was taking a break from Parasite Eve for a while but I started playing again. I don't get it but I think the New Game + is actually HARDER even though you go through the game with the powered up gear. I died in the room before Sheeva. My first playthrough I didn't die once except for that time near the end where you need to choose left or right and I chose right.
Not only that but my ammo is extremly low. When I finished the game on my first run I was sitting top of 600ish bullets. Now I am floating around 60. Which is scary. If I run out I have to use that crappy night stick. With my ammo this low I don't see how the Chrysler Buliding is going to be possible.

If I remember correctly, the chrystler building is full of ammo. Also, when I went in the chrystler building I somehow got this gun that was auto shoot until the things were dead. The guide mentioned nothing about it. But it seemed way to overpowered.

So I was thinking of picking up Fallout 3 but after looking it up on the web and then looking stuff up on Mass Effect I think I will get that instead. And Fallout 3 some other time. Mass Effect seems more like a Knights of the Old Republic game and I am aching for something like that right now. Both are made by BioWare so go figure. Plus Mass Effect is $30 brand new while Fallout 3 is $60 still. I'm saving money. And as for Fallout, I saw some videos on the older games and I gotta say I'm more curious about playing Fallout 1 and 2 just cause they look more like a Diablo type game rather than a FPS/RPG which is very intruiging to me. Love Diablo. Can't wait for 3.

I bought Mass Effect. I will play for a bit but I want to finish off my Parasite Eve stuff first. The price has gone from $30 to $25. Such a steal since its considered to be a good game and pretty big. Thats bang for your buck right there.

Started playing FFXII again. I'm not very far into the game's story yet, I'm just about to get Balthier. Still, I've got 10+ hours of gameplay, because I leveled up, got the best armor I can buy, and explored. Dej was talking about the game a while back, and then Caller reminded me of the "Vaan swinging on Basch's cage" scene, and I just knew, I had to play again!

I'm Captain Basch!
Played a bit of Mass Effect. I like what I see so far. Its like KotOR but also kinda like Gears of War. Its fun. I'm not playing it yet I just wanted to try it out. When I do play it I am not sure if I want to play as the default character that the game supplys you with or create my own. Creating your own guy or gal is always fun. And there seems to be more options in terms of customizing appearance. Something that KotOR lacked.
Until then though I am in the Crysler Building of Parasite Eve. I have done 30 floors so far (as my sig tells). WHat I have done has not been too difficult. Most enemies drop in a single shot. Some in two but they go down fast. Since they are so weak and ammo drops in tons I no longer have ammo shortages. I am capped at 999 bullets so I am safe. The bosses have been pushovers too. As in, easier than the games non optional bosses. And this is supposed to be a side dungeon. These things are supposed to be hard as nails. But I am sure it will get harder as I get higher. Especialy when I face off agains't Eve II or whatever is up there.
Parasite Eve 2 is after this game.

I ran out of things to play. So I decided I'd go buy Crisis Core: FFVII for the PSP and see how they butcher FFVII some more. I did little research on this game before buying it, so I was deeply disappointed when the KH battle system popped up. I HATE the KH battle system with a passion. I just cannot stand this semi-real time crap. But, despite the numerous glaring flaws that exists in CC's battle system (the left overs from KH's), I'm finding it some what tolerable. The game comes with two difficulty modes; Normal and Hard. These names are wrong. They should be renamed: Stupidly, mind numbingly, just press x until Zack puts his sword away, easy and fucking insane, totally anal raping, feels like yours balls being kicked repeatedly, hard. Seriously, the jump in difficulty between normal and hard is insane. It's not like 3 or 4 times more difficult but more like 15 times more difficult. Enemies seriously kill you in like one hit and bosses can wipe the floor with you if you make a single mistake. Coupled with the fact that there is a delay after EVERYTHING (so fucking annoying) dodging and guarding are almost impossible to do quickly, leaving you no choice but to block / dodge miles in advance of any attack. It's so annoying as I'm used to playing action games with cancels and dodging that is QUICK (as in, you dodge the attack while it's happening, not 10 minutes before -_-) so this game just seems so clunky and SLOW. But despite that, I chose hard anyways. I couldn't stomach the no brains approach of normal. So far, barring the beginning, it's gone ok. There has been many restarts, which brings me to my next point about why SE is a fucked up developer that sums everything there is to do with bad game design. So you have a hard game. Naturally, bosses are going to be killers and take numerous attempts. SE kindly grace you with a save point before most (not all) bosses. So what do SE go to make it nice and easy for gamers? That's right, they put unskippable, sometimes FIVE minute long cut scenes before bosses. Fucking brilliant. I mean come on SE, who the FUCK makes cut scenes unskippable these days? Fuck, this is so annoying I could write a 10 page essay on how this sums up the completely arrogant Japanese game designers so obsessed with "their" creation. So much so that they piss all over gamers because they want us to watch Zack jump into the same fight 15 times in a row. Anyways, not only that, but the amount of time from death to reloading is easily 2 minutes. 2 minutes!? On a PSP hand held, PORTABLE gaming system, DESIGNED for games to be played on the MOVE. Fuck SE, you are fucking shit. Why the hell can you not make a reload button appear and simply start the fight again from scratch as you entered? Totally unbelievable that game designers are producing games with these flaws. These shouldn't have even existed in the PSOne era, and yet they still do today. Alongside random encounters and games with save points. Ugh, it just gets to me how annoying it is. Well, enough ranting. Despite the flaws, despite the fucked up battle system; I am actually enjoying this game. Every time one of those flaws come up though, I do totally about throwing the game away as the biggest pile of crap ever, but something brings me back. And I think that is solely because I want to see Cloud kick the crap outta Seph. Although, saying that, Seph is the man in this game. I was never biggest Sephiroth fan boy, but damn he is portrayed pretty well in this. I like how he seems to actually have a human side. Also, I really like the fact that he IS the best fighter in the world. This game clearly demonstrates that no-one even comes close to how damn hard Sephiroth is. Well, at least not at the point where I am. It's pretty fun to see how Zack gets with Aerith too. I like Zack, he's actually not that bad of a character. So far, the story is totally what keeps me playing this because I am loving it. Probably because I love FFVII so much and finding out all about what happens before is quite interesting to me... In any case, I'll definitely be playing FFVII again after this. >.> And wow, sorry for the rant. xD

Wow, I actually thought the game was great. Even the battle system. I did tend to use a lot of magic though.

Even hard mode can be easy if you exploit the system. Normal mode can be hard too if you're going for the extra stuffs. Though the extra fights boil down to "Have instant death protection and 50,000 hp or you lose, lolz." I gave up half way cuz I just don't have the patience for grinding any more >_> I beat the Etheral Queen in SO4 on Sunday. She could totally maim me if I gave her the chance, but I never did. I completely kept pumping out 1.2 million damage combos and barely gave her a chance to breathe. It was a bit disappointing, but Chaos mode is giving me any difficulty that I could ever possibly want from the game. Yeesh. Speaking of annoying things, how about a five to seven hour long dungeon with no save points? Oh, and if you leave, you have to start over from scratch. Let's also add that it's a randomly generated dungeon. While we're at it, let's throw in random goals that you have to achieve every other floor. Just one more thing... let's make them so mind numbing bastard-like so you want to throw your TV out the freaking window... Condition one: "Defeat our assassins" - You kill 5-8 encounters in a row. Ok, that's really easy! Condition two: "Collect x geostones" - Sounds simple... But they randomly drop less than 5% of the time from the monsters in the dungeon. You can only hold twenty of them, and the "x" can be anywhere from 5 - 20. Guess why this would be annoying many floors in a row? Condition three: "Destroy all the crystals" - In the game, you get destruction rings that destroy certain objects. You use these rings to kill the crystals. These crystals are randomly spread throughout the long ass random floors. The light ring only has one charge. The only way to recharge the rings is to use a skill that charges them to full. You use an item, that you can only carry 20, to recharge them. Can you see where this could possibly be flawed? I ran into, no joke, 52 light crystals on one floor in a dungeon. I went through 12 floors in 45 mins, and then took two and a half hours on this one. It's absolutely stupid. Oh, and if you need more of the items that recharge the ring, they drop from the monsters... 1% or less of the time. And it's a rare steal as well. Designed. To. Fail. Star Ocean does have skippable cutscenes though

I still gotta beat SO3's bosses on the hardest mode too. But, even the 2nd hardest mode wasn't ALL that hard for me, because I over level. But, 4-D mode, yeah that was a pain in the ass! I'm in the Lhusu mines on FFXII now, all is well now that I have my beloved Super-tank, Capt. Basch. I did a few hard fights, like the Cluckatrice mark, which I came extremely close to game over on - No Phoenix Downs remaining, Fran with less than 100 HP, and trying to raise people... Also fought those Werewolves in Giza, which was nasty, but not impossible. I tried to fight the Linburg Wolf, and that was another near game over. It had some attack that was doing 300+ damage to everyone, so I had to GTFO of there before I game over'd. Even with me over leveling as I always do, I can still find stuff to challenge me in this game. I'm hoping I can still get the Zodiac Spear this time too, and kill Zodiark, and the other bosses I didn't tackle in my other game. Kinda dread dealing with Zodiark though, last time I repeatedly lost to him, I didn't play again for 2 years. >.>

Wait wait wait. I don't remember KH being semi-real time. It seemed full real time to me. Unless our definitions on the term are differant. Now FFXII, that was semi-real time. One thing I cant stand are cut scenes that can't be skipped. What I hate more than that are skippable cutscenes that skip no matter what button you press. You accidentally hit a button and a cutscene skips and you miss some stuff. Skippable cutscenes need to be like this. First press start which pauses cutscene. Then have the option to continue or skip. Perfecto! Oh, speaking of Final Fantasy, check this out. Top 10 Pussys in Video Games. Its worth a watch the entire way through but check out which FF character makes the list. www.gametrailers.com/player/48867.htmlCouldn't agree more.
