kupokpok: Ya, I did some of those flashbacks. Very cool. I should have called Otacon more though. Hmm. I left a save at the beginning of that Act cause I wanted to play that one flashback/dream again, hehe, so maybe I'll play through some of Act 4 again. That was definitly my favorite part of the game! Oh and I totally agree with you on the post-Mantis part of the game. Whew. Wow. Anyway, I've beaten the game! Yesterday, I beat it. That final battle was awesome! And wow, that had to be the longest ending in video game history! I liked most of it, expect...well...a certain suprise character at tje end just keep going on and on and on and on and on (he wouldn't shut up or die)...it was like that movie the English Patient. lol. Though, I did like that bit at the VERY end. You know, the dialogue with just the MGS4 logo showing. In any case, such a great game. Without a doubt, my favorite Metal Gear Solid. Yes, even topping my previous favorite, MGS2! Oh, on another subject, yesterday Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty downloaded! Such a cool game! Well worth the download. It is a VERY short game, I think I'm already near the end, but its a very cool game. I will definitly be playing this game again. So, anyway, I still have a little bit more Quest for Booty to play, I have to play more Resistence, and I might play a little bit of MGS4 soon. And after I beat Quest for Booty, I might go back to Tools of Destruction and play some of that Challenge mode. Plus: you know, I really have to get back to Super Mario RPG. lol. Also, can't wait till October: thats when LittleBigPlanet comes out! DF2506

That surprise character at the end, I loved his appearance in the game. If it had him return as an enemy then I would have thought it was bullshit and cliche but since he came back to make his peace with Snake it felt very right. There was a respect and understanding between the two that wasn't there before hand. And yeah, the ending is super long. I loved it though.
I missed the Otacon stuff in that Act as well. The thing with all MGS games is that there are so many hidden dialogues and easter eggs, you can't see them all in one play through. I mean the last time I played MGS1, just a week before MGS4 itself came out, i was finding codec conversations I never seen before. And that gamne is 10 years old XD
I'm not really playing anything at the moment other than World of Warcraft. I tried a bit of that secret dungeon in FF5 but I think I'll wait till my Vegas trip is done before I do that.

Norfair: Oh yeah, I was happy that he didn't come back as a enemy. I liked how he showed up again, but...the whole conversation got to a point where that character just kept repeating things a lot and I was like, "when is this going to end?" lol. But ya, I loved most of the ending (especially the final boss fight and logo talk at the end). I just thought the conversation at the end with that suprise character was a bit too long. In any case, they do pack a lot of things into these Metal Gear Solid games, so I'm not suprised about you finding stuff in the old Metal Gear Solid. I use to find stuff in MGS2 and MGS3 a lot. I'm sure Metal Gear Solid 4 is going to be like that too. I'll probably take another trip through Act 4 and I might play the new game+ plus a little, but I'm probably going to take MGS4 off the hard-drive sometime before LittleBigPlanet comes out (not going to get rid of the game, just take it off the hard-drive for awhile. I'll definitly play it again eventually. great game). MGS4 takes up quite a bit of space on the hard-drive. I want to have as much space for LittleBigPlanet as possible. Anyway, I rented Mercenaries 2: World In Flames today. Graphics wise, its a little bit better then a PS2 game, but not much. I think the cutscenes and the explosions are really well-done though. That said, the gameplay is alot of fun. I love blowing stuff up (in the game. lol). Its much more fun, imo, then something like GTA because everything is so darn destructable. Boom! Though, this game, like MGS4, takes up a lot of room. I think I'm starting to see why some people don't like the install thing with the PS3. Not that I hate it, but, you know, wow. That hard drive is filling up fast. lol. So, ya, I'm going to play Mercenaries 2 for my five day rental, but I'll probably end up taking it off the hard drive when I take it back. Fun game, but I do doubt I'll buy it. Some games are just good rentals. DF2506

Ge Warhawk! I need someone to be my gunner!
Got a new badge last night . Was sniping enemies from this huge platform. Good times.
In other news somehow I got into teh Warhammer beta. This game does not interest me, and downloading it has been a pain in the ass. Still downloading this morning.

Kikaro, I'll keep Warhawk in mind. I don't have a headset yet, so I haven't been playing any on-line games yet. Anyway, today I beat Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest For Booty. Very cool game, but very short too. Still, I know of at least one secret place that I want to explore soon in Quest for Booty. Also: I played more Mercenaries 2 and I started a new game+ on Metal Gear Solid 4. Oh and I found a costume for one of the miltary sides, so I've been helping out some of those guys. Thats pretty cool. It makes it a different kind of game when you do that. Of course, I keep getting myself killed too. hehe. In any case, its fun. If I get a chance tonight, I might play some of that Ratchet & Clank Future: ToD challenge mode. We'll see. DF2506

I never use a headset. But I would if I had a friend playing with me.
I got the the part in Quest for booty where the pirates attack and you have to use the cannon to attack the ship cannons. Gets me everytime.
we would play resistance online together too FYI though I still need to finish single player before resistance 2 comes out. YOu do realize we can do 2 player co op with resistance 2 right? That would rock!

I never use a headset. But I would if I had a friend playing with me. True. I want to get a headset later this year. It would be cool to talk to ya again Kikaro. Shoot at whatever pirate ship cannon is open at the moment. Also, you can shoot some of those cannon balls or whatever they are before they hit you. That whole beach thing is pretty frantic. We'll have to try that soon. I haven't played any of Resistence online yet, so that might be pretty cool. I'd miss the headset, but still, it might be fun. Please send me a message on PSN sometime and we'll team up! Oh yeah, I need to finish single player on the first game too. When does Resistence 2 come out? No, I didn't know that! Thats cool! I'll, at least, have to rent Resistence 2 when it comes out so that we can team up with that. Mercenaries 2 has a 2-player co-op too, but I haven't tried it out cause of the whole headset thing....plus I don't know anybody that has that game. lol. You know, I really should try out that Metal Gear Solid online. I haven't even looked into that yet. Ditto with Resistence. Maybe I should check that out soon. I have been really interested in how good PSN's online gaming is (I've heard rumors...lol). Hmmm. I will definitly be doing the online thing with LittleBigPlanet. Its going to have 4-player co-op. Thats going to be awesome. DF2506

Infinite Undiscovery should be coming sometime this week, hoping to get into that. Still haven't gotten very far on Two Towers but y'know...I never will cuz that game is like impossible. But, fun impossible. If that makes sense. <.<

Metal Gear online pissed me off. The registration alone made me not even play that game. YOu had to register a username with Konami. It wouldnt use your PSN name. Why? Who the hell knows. Also it had me running back and forth from my PS3 to my computer to check email. I got frustrated and deleted it. OF course this was back i nbeta so maybe they fixed it. But if you go online and it is not so bad let me know. I have that game too.
Dont have Mercenaries though.

No they havn't changed MGO at all with that. I was super annoyed with it too. I only played MGO once and I have no intent of trying it again. I can't remember my Konami ID and password and I know it would take forever to recover. Not to mention MGO's lobby is flat out horrible. The game itself is good, I had fun when I did play online, but there is too much bullshit involved with trying to play it.

OK glad I am not the only one who had problems. DF maybe tonight or Tomorrow we can hook up in resistance. Been a while since I played so I probably suck.
I think Resistance 2 is next month. Not 100% sure. But I damn well better see you online to co-op with.

Still chugging along in Tales of Vesperia. I dented the game by playing a good nine hours of it yesterday. The longest I"ve ever sat down and played a game since FFXI (2 yrs onry). The challenge has stepped down a bit, except with the optional bosses. They kick my ass <_< They have ridiculously high HP and attack. And the CPU, as clever as they are now, still endlessly run into the attacks. Can't expect perfect AI.

Re: Metal Gear Solid Online. Hmm. I don't know. It looks good, but I don't think I want to go to that much trouble. lol.
As for Resistance, I played the online for the first time tonight and it was pretty cool. The only map I don't care for, so far, is the Thames map. Otherwise, pretty cool online game there. Nice variety in the maps, cool weapons, etc. That said, I'm not very good at the game yet. lol. Still, its fun.
Oh and I don't know about other games on the PS3, but I didn't have any problems finding games on Resistance (found them faster then Halo 3 & Call of Duty 4), also online play worked just as good, if not better then what I saw on Live.
Can't wait to see LittleBigPlanet on PSN. Thats going to be great.

Infinite Undiscovery came today and I played about 10 hrs of it (I was sick >_>) and...my first impression?
It's...kinda meh. It's not bad, no, not by any means. It's fun to play but the pacing is god freaking awful. It doesn't tell you where to go, and a lot of the cutscenes seem very, very out of place and end abruptly. The characters are also very one-dimensional and I HATE that in RPGs. Some are starting to get fleshed out, but you're just introduced to a whole gaggle of them at once and you're expected to just be happy with a new member. Who cares about background?!
...and this applies to the main character too. And the storyline. In fact you're told next to nothing about the main story til about 4 hours in. I'm not kidding.
But it's still early yet. There may be more yet to come. This is a game for people who like Tri-Ace because it's more of the same. It's kinda like FFXII meets SO3. It's actually obviously in the same universe as the Star Ocean et al games. It uses Fol and has a lot of crossover abilities and references (Grinn Valesti is a special move).
It has the real time combat that's very similar to FFXII, but it has SO3's combo and Killer move system. It works out fairly well, but it could've used an Aerial attack button because there are a lot of flying mobs and little ways to attack them. Defending? Forget about it. You get a Parry Slash that's not at all unlike The Two Tower's version of parrying, but you have to time it 100% perfectly or you get nailed and stunned.
Fun!
But it's definitely got some great gameplay, and that's what's saving it. I'll be playing it through to the end for certain but this game could've been a lot better.

Last night, I downloaded Echochrome and R-Types (PS1) off of PSN. Echochrome is really good. And R-types is neat. You get R-type 1 & 2. Also downloaded the pirate character for Pain. Oh and I played more of the Resistence single-player yesterday and more Metar Gear Solid 4. Haven't played anything yet today. If I get the chance, I'll play more Resistence (maybe some online too). Hmm. This weekend, I really have to get back to Super Mario RPG too. lol. DF2506
