I'm on the second (out of 2) discs already and I'm only 12 hours in. Mark said Odyssey did this too, but I've read the reviews, and I know this game is short...but THAT short? Wow! A "plot twist" (that was completely predictable) occurred that now has me doing something that the main character would NEVER do, thanks to that lack of pacing and development I told you about. Come to think of it, the game starts with the main character in jail...but you're never, once, told why. I'm beginning to hate this story the more I write about it. Also, the main villain? You think Seymour sounded girly? Dear GOD.

Come to think of it, the game starts with the main character in jail...but you're never, once, told why. I've only just started the game... but I'm assuming that it's because the main character looks exactly like that Sigmund guy? I've assumed that those guards thought it was him. >.> Of course, I have only just reached that camp site in the forest, so I could be COMPLETELY wrong. This game does feel a little weird. I can certainly tell already that they have cheaped out on the voice acting. Ugh, been a while since I heard stuff this bad. Game play seems alright though. Combat is fun, so I'm looking forward to that. I'll post more detailed thoughts once I've played it for more than an hour.

Played Resistence: Fall of Man single-player today. Also, played more Pain and Echochrome. Pain got an interesting update today. It has something new called PainLabs where the developers will test out a new level every week (For Free!). Also, there's a new downloadable add-on level (its costs). I haven't got it, but I'm thinking about it. As for Echochrome, I created a new level. That creator is neat. Oh and I tried out a demo of a game called Elefunk. Its a puzzle game where you have to make a bridge strong enough so an elephant (or elephants and other creatures) can cross to the otherside. Sounds strange, I know, but its neat. And very hard too. Man, the PS3 is so great. DF2506

For the SMRPG fans It's rappy, but...also not. I dunno. Got to a town in IU where there seems to be about 20 item shops and dear jesus god are the items expensive. I of course went too far in the story to power level my item creations now, but I guess I can do that in hard mode. THe story isn't going anywhere yet but it's still fun to play <.<

I played a demo of a game called Pixel Junk Monsters last night. Its a stradegy "tower" game. You build towers to keep the monsters from attacking your followers. Really fun game! Kind of addictive.
Also, I downloaded the new add-on level to Pain. Its callled the Abusement park. lol. You have a new type of slingshot and you throw your character at all kinds of amusement park rides, people, and things. Fun level. Its a really good add-on to this game. I'd say I've been playing Pain the most of all my games right now.
I have been playing a lot of Resistence lately though. Getting further in that.
Today, I played a little Echochrome. I'm thinking about playing Resistence & Pain later today. I also want to check out the Nintendo Channel again. Play that Spore Creatures demo again and maybe look at some videos.

Kikaro, Cool! I have to check my messages in Resistance! I'll try to do that later tonight. Excellent. Btw, saw some footage for Resistance 2. Wow. Looks amazing. I might have to think about the game for Christmas.... (btw, it comes out in November). Anyway, played more Resistance single-player and Pain today. Hmm. Wish LittleBigPlanet was coming out sooner. *sigh* I like the games I have, but I'm ready for a new one... DF2506

Sorry about the double post. Yesterday, I got Rogue Galaxy for the PS2. I've been playing it on my PS3. Really fun game. Its nice to be playing an rpg again, even if it is an action rpg. Level-5 is a great developer too. I like the story & characters in Rogue Galaxy, the graphics are pretty good, and the battle system is good too. The only thing that was a little annoying was the random comments that different members of the group would make as you walked around (since they repeated so much). Found a way to turn that off though. Oh and...wow...so many random battles in this game! whew. Still, fun game. It was well worth buying. It should hold me over until LittleBigPlanet comes out! I could never get to the end of Rogue Galaxy. Don't get me wrong, I love the game, but the random battles with the long dungeons just grated on me after a while. Especially since the battles turned into spam fests. If you used your abilities to your fullest, you auto-win. If you don't use any, you get raped. Bad balance later.
I think Tales of Vesperia wins the best RPG of the xbox award. At least in my eyes, it has everything a good game needs. The only weak point it has is the story, but I've gotten used to that. You can only tell the same tale (haha... pun) so many times before it gets boring. The characters themselves make up for that big time though. Clocked at 45 hours right now, and the game still is going strong. Signs are pointing to the end, but I can't see it just yet.

Especially since the battles turned into spam fests. If you used your abilities to your fullest, you auto-win. If you don't use any, you get raped. Bad balance later. Ya, I can already see the long dungeons and random battles thing. lol. But, despite that, I'm still having fun with the game. I tend to run from battles a lot though. lol. I do really like that the teleporters/saves will take you in and out of the dungeons. I may have to start using that a bit more to level up. I'm kind of running low on money & items... I'm on Chapter 6 (I believe). Its in the Factory on the third planet. I am going to be so happy when we finally leave this planet. Wait....do we ever leave this planet? Please say yes, please say yes.... So anyway, long dungeons, lots of random battles, but the characters are fun, the story is interesting, the battle system is good, the revelation flow chart is awesome, and its a great game despite the random battles/long dungeons imo. I can see right now its probably the only game I'm going to be playing for awhile. DF2506

I really enjoyed Rogue Galaxy. I know it wasn't the best game ever, and did have some balance issues.. but overall I enjoyed it. But, only for the gameplay. The story just out right sucked. I really enjoyed the hunts and creating new weapons. I got some really powerful weapons by just playing around quite early in the game, which made things a HELL of a lot easier. The factory was one of my favourite mini games too. Although it was a bit long winded, it was still fun. Unfortunately, I never got to finish it. I was playing it on my friend's PS3 when he was living here... so when he moved out a while back, he took my saved game with him and so I lost everything... After IU I'll probably give it another go. Was thinking about it the other day.

What story? You pretty much know what's going to happen before it happens! Even the morning news report isn't that predictable. Level 5 makes badass things when it comes to customization and gameplay. I loved Dark Cloud 1 & 2, Jeanne D' Arc (though it was easy), and Rogue Galaxy. They haven't told a good story yet, but they're getting better as they go along. I think there is a level 5 game coming out for the xbrick360, and you'll be sure as hell I'd buy it. I'm hoping for no random encounters in that game though. They went overkill on Rogue XD

Hmm. I disagree on the story so far. Sure, its not a great story, but I like it so far. Its keeping me interested.
I also like the characters.
I do think there's too many random battles & that there's way too many mimics, but I do like the item collecting, revelation flow chart, the combat system, the story, the graphics, characters, and the Factory & bug collecting mini-games seem neat. The good is far out weighing the bad for me so far.
I also liked Dragon Quest 8's story (and characters). So, I think Level 5 has done some GOOD stories, they just haven't done any GREAT ones yet. (but imo, the gameplay and all the other stuff that Level 5 packs into their games more then makes up for any flaws in story)
Oh and btw, the next Level 5 game is actually going to be for the PS3. Its the White Knight Chronicles. I think Level 5 is pretty much just sticking with the PS3, DS, and PSP so far.
Anyway, I left the third planet, finally, and now I'm on the Mine Planet. Met the newest member of our party and he's cool. Interesting back story too.
Really liking this game. Glad I bought it!

Played some Rogue Galaxy today and Pain! I went back to some other planets and got some more items & the earth key in Rogue Galaxy. In Pain, I unlocked my first trophy there (Pain in the Park) and I also unlocked a new mode for Downtown (Block Party).
Also: I downloaded the PSN's Life With Playstation. Its a weather & news channel, plus its part of the folding@home thing that the PS3 has. Kind of neat. I think the Wii's news & weather channels are a bit better though. The Wii has more cities covered with its weather channel & the Wii's news channel actually has a zoom button. I think, though, with more areas added and a zoom on the news, that Life With Playstation could be pretty cool. As is, its a neat novelity. I'm not sure how much I'll use it though (of course, I don't use the Wii's weather & news channels much. lol).
Though, I do like that Life With Playstation lets you play your own music while looking at the weather & news. So, it has some good points. Hopefully, they'll update it soon with a zoom & more areas. It does have potential.
Oh and I'm downloading a demo called Fracture for the PS3 too.

Folding at home is great. We leave that running all the time. So if they have something else used in it, Thats awesome.
I have played nothing this week. Barely even sat at my computer. The new job (More in How was your day) has me pretty exhausted.
I did work a little more on Jeanne D'arc when I had no power. (Stupid electric bill was paid damnit. IT WAS PAID!) but other than that im boring.
