I will definatly get this when it comes out. the three of us can romp aroudn together. Do you guys have headsets? I don't for PS3 but I can pick one up.
I am playing it on PS3. Just like Mega Man on the Wii, I played all the other Silent Hill games on a Sony console so this one needs to be on one too. And yes, I am enjoying the game. I don't like it as much I liked the first 3 games but its better than the 4th.
As for your question about it being a next gen Silent Hill? Well the answer is a yes and a no. Gameplay wise they really improved it. Its not quite as annoying when you have to take on monsters. But the graphics? Those are a complete fail. Environments look good but characters look like crap. its funny cause the Silent Hill games for PS2 actually LOOKED better.
Its definatly a great Silent Hill experience but it does fall short of the standards set by the first few games.

I don't have a headset for the PS3, but I do plan on getting one for Christmas. There is text chat though (at least in the beta anyway). Its not great, but you can at least communicate some. That said, Sackboy's range of expression is so amazing that you really don't have to communicate most of the time. Just throw a happy face or a sad face or a mad face out there. Plus you can slap each other around, drag each other, and put stickers on each other! hehe. Ya, we have to team up. Its going to be great. As for Silent Hill, well, hopefully the next one will be even better. Btw, what do you think about Resident Evil 5? Do you think thats going to be cool? Anyway, played more LittleBigPlanet with Kikaro today. Also published my second LBP level, Sackwulf. Its not really a action packed level though. Its just a short retelling of the Sackwulf/SackGrendel encounter and then SackGrendels mother shows up and the King asks what they'll do. To be continued! So, a story-based level. lol. I don't know. I had fun making it. So far, nobody has played it though, so I have no idea if anyone else will like it...lol. Hey, you know, when the full game comes out, I have to think about making a Just A Dream level! hehe. Btw, today the LittleBigPlanet people announced that they will be an Old Solid Snake costume for Sackboy and a Sephiroth costume! The Old Snake costume will be out in December. It'll be released in Metal Gear Solid pack. So I think there will be other things in the pack (maybe other costumes? stickers?). Oh and you'll have to pay to download it too. As for Sephiroth, he'll come out in an FF7 pack, but they haven't said when that pack will be out. I would guess sometime early next year, but who knows. Maybe they'll release it in December too? Hope so. It'll be another pay download too. Anyway, cool news, imo. Here's a link to the info (for the costumes. Ign mentions the packs) & pics: blog.us.playstation.com/2008/10/08/tgs-08-sackboy-solid-snake-and-sephiroth-to-join-littlebigplanet/DF2506

Its kinda neat how they are giving these characters cute appearances in the game. I saw the Kratos one from God of War and it looks funny as hell. I can't even imagine what Old Snake will look like. Resident Evil 5: Yes, I am quite interested and excited. It looks like its taking the gameplay style of 4 which is not a bad thing by any means. And from what I heard it can either be a single player game or a co-op game over Xbox Live/Playstation network. There is a second character that tags along that another person can control and two people can work together. Which is awsome I think. I never played Outbreak but I heard it wasn't that great os this will get RE fans playing together on what will hopefully be a good game. EDIT>> Here they are. Snake and Sephiroth in LittleBig Planet. www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/55218

Ya, I'm very interested in Resident Evil 5 too. I liked RE4 quite a bit. I'll probably reserve RE5 in the Spring. Oh and the co-op does sound good. I did play Outbreak, off-line and it was awful. I heard it was just as bad online. lol. RE5 should be cool though. As for LittleBigPlanet, yes, the characters look awesome. Old Snake especially looks cool imo. That solid eye! hehe. Also, can't wait to mix and match that stuff. I bet there will be some wacky combinations there (God of War meets Old Snake meets Sephiroth. hehe). Anyway, only two more days of the beta! Well, two days and change. I think it officially ends on Sunday. Man, I'm going to miss it! I hope October 21st hurries up! lol. I'm thinking about renting Dead Space next week if I can. That looks interesting. DF2506

Kikaro and I played his level, Fun With Stars, yesterday. Its was a VERY hard level. It was a blast to play though. Just from seeing his first level, I can tell he is a much better designer of levels than I am. I can't wait to see what he does in the full game! Anyway, I posted a second verison of my second level, Sackwulf, yesterday. The second verison has flaming warriors, a scarrier Grendel & Grendel's mom, and lots of sound effects & such. Its not really a platforming level, more like an interactive story... Man...only one full day left (today) of the Beta. Ya, I know its only going to be a week till the full game comes out...but man...I bet thats going to be a looooooong week! lol. Yes, I'm addicted to LittleBigPlanet. Looking forward to this game so much. Glad I made the leap to the Playstation 3 this year! DF2506

Don't forget...the Beta ends today! I checked under info and its says it ends at 5:59 p.m. today.... I plan to play more before its over. I'm really going to miss this game! In other gaming "news", I got Burnout Paradise for the PS3 yesterday! Excellent game! I like the bikes (though the cars are easier to control) and the day-night stuff. Haven't seen any weather effects yet. Its just a blast driving around the city, finding stuff, and getting into wrecks. lol. This should keep me busy till LBP. Plus: I plan to get back into the Sonic RPG and Pain this coming week too. Here's hoping the week sails by...*sigh* DF2506

I guess I am not going to get to finish my new level. Im only about 1/3 done I think. Im playing with vehicles. I have a sled of doom already and am trying to figure out how to make a plane. So little time.
For those who are curios if Warhawk is your kind of game there is a demo for it. I highly suggest trying it out. I love this game.

I finally finished Silent Hill 5 last night. Stayed up till 5 am playing it. The incoherent story line actually started making some sense towards the end. I got the "good" ending and I was satisfied with it. The final puzzle to get to the last boss was really dumb I thought. It was hard but it was just an inane idea for a puzzle.
Overall a good game. The creatures don't look as scary as they did in previous games. With the exception of the nurse but those are a Silent Hill staple. I think the new American developers were a little too eager to try and make things scary that eventually some creatures just ended up looking a tad comical. That's not to say the game didn't scare me, it did, but they were more of the cheap jump scares that Resident Evil has so mastered instead of the actual psychological terror the series is known for.
Up next on Norfair's play list! Final Fantasy V's secret dungeon then I shall play Persona 3: FES.

I was playing Star Ocean 2 but my obsessive side kicked in and essentially ruined the game for me. I'm down to 10 days before Star Ocean First Departure, so I need to keep myself occupied with something for 10 days... Probably gonna be Tomb Raider 2, or Pharaoh... possibly Morrowind too, but I'm rather obsessive about that as well.

I played LittleBigPlanet beta today and also played Burnout Paradise. On LBP, I played some cool levels today. There was one called Music Maker 1.0 (I believe) and it was all about music (well, mostly). Very inventive. Another, really funny one was LBPMaimiVice. hehe. Also tried out the LittleBigCaculator level which is just amazing. Someone actually made a working caculator in LittleBigPlanet!!! Anyway, I've played a lot of cool levels during the beta. Of course, I've played some not-so-good ones too, but mostly they were good. And the game, oh man, the game is amazing. I highly recommand LBP to everyone! If you don't have a PS3, LBP is really THE reason to get one. This is a game that'll appeal to ALL ages. Fun, inventive, amazing. I love the Wii, don't get me wrong, and I like the 360, but the PS3 is amazing at the moment. Can't wait to see what LittleBigPlanet and the PS3 comes up with next! As for Burnout Paradise, its a very cool game. I have ten cars unlocked now, plus the two bikes. Its so much fun. I think it should definitly keep me busy until LBP comes out! DF2506 " And I hope Home does come out sometime this year...lol."

For me the system of choice is the 360 (never thought I'd say that). The system has achievements and that keeps me playing a game longer than normal. And the interface is a lot more organized than the PS3. I do like the PS3 though. I'm not a hater. But it doesn't have achievements and I love those. yes, it has the knock off trophys but not all games have that. I have no games that have trophys so I can't judge how well it is yet. Where as the 360 ALL games have achievements.
The Wii isn't holding my interest as muich as when I first got it. You get like one good first party exclusive every couple of months mixed in with a bunch of shitty games. And I hate to say it but the best use of the Wiimote that I've seen is still Wii Sports. Nintendo made a good system with awesome technology but they aren't really showing what else can be done with it.
I bought GTA4 from a coworker for 20 bucks for the 360. My PS3 version will be sold. Why did I get the 360 version when I have the PS3 version? Well like I said earlier, 360 has achievements. And GTA is a big game with lots of points to rack in. I also borrowed Beutiful Katamari from another coworker. Its a fun, strange game. Harder than I thought despite its simplicity.

Decided on Pharaoh, I really enjoy this game. I love all things Egyptian anyways, so this is right up my alley. Also started Star Ocean 3 again because Caller is playing it. Haven't got too far yet, only to the Airyglyph Aqueducts. I'm so rusty at this... I used to be the most kick ass player at that game, but god, even the computer AI is doing better than me at this point. It's best for me to control Nel at this point and just spam spells and healing until I get a better grasp on the controls. I was worried when I first picked up the game, I was scared my 4-D mode game was deleted... god knows I don't wanna have to do the opening of the game again in 4-D, that was a nightmare. I did find my game, after doing some enemy scans and comparing enemy HP notes from the guide. I'm glad there was an explanation for me getting my ass kicked in simple battles on that save, anyways. And, I just gotta say, thank GOD for Cliff! ♥

My friends have all brought this new MMO and have convinced me to start playing it. I'm sure the MMO buffs around here know all about it, but it's Warhammer: Age of Reckoning. For those of you that don't know, it's an RvR focused MMO that screams WoW to me, but I'm assured there are loads of differences. Anyways, been playing this for about a week now and it's alright. My only other experience with an MMO is FFXI and this is totally different. With FFXI you get the feel that it's sorta an online console game where as this is definitely designed solely for the PC. I'm not much of a PC gamer either, so this doesn't sit too well with me as I hate using the keyboard. >.> Despite that though it's ok. Certainly easier to level than in any other MMO I played and the RvR and PvP is quite fun. Seems quite balanced too, but I haven't really gotten into the world like I did with FFXI. It does seem pretty big and the public quests are really fun. I don't know how long I'm gunna stick with it though, I just don't know if I can handle a full MMO ever again. xD What I hate though is that all the while I'm playing this certain things just keep reminding me of FFXI and making me think about it and what fun I had with it. There must be some sort of nostalgia because I keep looking back and thinking how much I would rather be spending all this time in Vana'Diel again. I was *almost* tempted to reinstall but before I did I got an actual flash back of what it would really be like and then I didn't. >.> It's strange. I have really, really fond memories of FFXI. Despite all the complaining and everything I did about it; I had a lot of fun. I think probably because it was my first MMO I hold it in a special place? Dunno maybe I'm just being stupid. I haven't even given it a second thought 'til I started playing this! One good thing though, is that my friends all have this voice server and they use that. I got myself a headset and it is SO much better than typing. I felt a bit stupid at first but it quickly passed when we started doing things. We should of had something set up like that in FFXI. That woulda been great. Anyways... sorry for the ridiculously stupid post.
