I think FF is so special for us just because we all had each other. I remember when that first came out I was only planning on spending about 6 months on th game cause I didn't like paying monthly but when we all got together and started playing together I had a lot more fun than I ever thought I would have. And thats what kept me in the game for, how long was it? 4 years? Maybe it was only 3. Either way, its well over triple the amount of time I had originally planned.
Warhammer did interest me for a while until I found out that it was more for PvP minded people which I am not. I prefer the groups and going after bosses in dungeons and every source I've heard from says that there is very little of that. The thing that looks pretty neat to me is the public questing that everyone can just kinda jump in on.
If the whole Warhammer thing doesn't work out you should try WoW. You don't even have to buy it to play it you can download a free 10 day trial. Like FF thereis a massive grind but you don't have to sit around for hours on end waiting for part invites as you can do shit solo quite easily through quests. The quests are repetetive as hell, collect a certain amount of this, kill this many of that. But really, its no differant than FFs grinding. You're killing a whole bunch of enemys but in this game its not just for exp its also for quest items which in turn give more exp. Theres also not much of a story line going on, like Warhammer, but theres enough there to keep your mind occupied that it doesn't even matter.
Anyways, I started Persona 3: FES last night. Didn't get very far cause I was super tired but I like what i see so far. The beggining of the game takes forever just to get started but the game has that classic Shin Megami Tensei feel to it that I saw in Digitial Devil Saga.

I'm not a fan of PvP too so I don't see me playing it. The PvP in WoW annoys me anyways, not so much on the battlefields, but world PvP. Jesus I'm just trying to quest, get out of my face you stupid cow. >.< I don't think I'd like Warhammer just for that reason, I'm more of a solo person. I get reminded of FFXI a lot too, it was fun while we played. I just don't wanna go back now though. Lots of idiots running around in the game now, with this new Sync system. After WoW, FFXI seems WAY too hard to actually enjoy. I miss playing with everyone, though... I get nostalgic about our newbie days on FFXI, those were fun! Star Ocean: First Departure ships on the 21st... I can't wait to get it! I already looked at some videos, and it looks like the Item Creation girl from Star Ocean 3 is now a secret character in this new one. She appears to be kicking major layers of ass too. However... I'm pretty sure that her weapon is a giant hand on a stick... so... yeah, that's gonna be a little weird.

I just discovered some stuff about LittleBig Planet's delay. Not only was it delayed but it was recalled from all major distributors because of one thing. One of the ingame songs uses a quote right out of the Qur'an. For those that don't know, the Qur'an is the Muslim bible.
That's what was reported. What wasn't reported, obviously, is if the game would have continued to be distributed with that tiny thing, the Muslim community would be putting a price on the Producer's head and demanding that the government hand him over to their twisted, religious cult so they can execute him. The same thing happened because a British teacher decided to name her class's teddy bear Mohomad.
I think its time for people to stop being so damn culturaly sensetive and stand up for their right to freedom of speech already. If you don't, it will be gone before you know it. XD

to combine Quran and music is a HUGE no no for muslims so they are thinking that it considered hugely offensive to them... cant we all just get along?

It doesn't matter if it's offensive. If you're going to live in this country, you have to deal with freedom of speech. AND the Separation of Church and State. Don't like it? Get out.

I just find it funny that how the states (even Canada) can poke fun at Christianity, which is the main religion of both countrys yet get scared to say anything about Islam for fear of being racially insesetive. Yet you know the real truth behind it. This kinda makes me want to just boycott LittleBig Planet. If they don't have the balls to stand up and put their foot down then they don't deserve my money. I say that now but I know I'll cave and buy it anyways XD

I just find it funny that how the states (even Canada) can poke fun at Christianity, which is the main religion of both countrys yet get scared to say anything about Islam for fear of being racially insesetive. You can bet if that were a Christian song then despite how many complaints the Church made nothing would be done about it. Slightly different I guess, but everyone remember that Sony game that upset the Church a while back? Resistance Fall of Man, was it? Where they depicted the Manchester Cathedral and all that fighting inside of it... nothing was done then, was it? The same thing can be said about white people in general these days. At least over here. No word of a lie, if a black or muslim 12 year old kid was stabbed, it would be front page news on every newspaper and television station. If the same thing happened to a white kid, it would be buried in the middle of the paper and no one would even care. And I'm not even making this up as an example, this actually happened a few months back over here. >.> It just seems as the conventional population is fair game these days. Which, I don't mind at all, I'm not complaining about that. However, if you say anything bad about ANY minority you're automatically labelled a racist, bigot, etc, which is a whole load of crap. It just annoys me that everyone has to tip toe around these minorities and please them, which usually makes the majority suffer. I could go on and on about this issue, it's really fucking stupid and just makes me angry when I think about it. So I'm gunna stop here. But I'm sure you guys know how it all is anyways.

Yes, I've heard it gets worse in Europe. Never been there but I've read some things about the muslim population there and their effect on things. This topic really makes me want to watch that new movie Religulous. In any case, I didn't mean to derail this topic. But its nice to have some conversations like this. Still playing Persona 3. I like it but I'm a little annoyed with a few small things. it seems like the entire game takes place in the same setting. I don't mind the high school setting and working on academics and freindships but after school going into the same damn tower every night. The environments never change, each corridor looks the same as the last. And it pretty much seems like this game is going to take place in the same redundant tower till the very end of the game. In any case, I am liking the game (I think I like Digital Devil Saga more) but a change in scenery would be nice. Also playing Duke Nukem 3D on Xbox Live Arcade in the mornings before work.

Played a little Lord of the Rings online tonight. It's not bad. It's a lot like WoW but has a *much* better tutorial and a fantastic opening quest that actually gets you into the game playing immediately...instead of dumping you in a city and leaving you to your own volition. Easy to level too, and so far, cash isn't a problem. Too early for THAT though. I'm a Hobbit Hunter of course and what I like is that I can shoot even at point blank. I mean I know it doesn't make much sense but hey. >.> My comp is no fan of this game however so I'm having to play it on the lowest settings but it's still not all that bad. Hell it looks better than some PS2 games even on the lowest. Been playing Star Ocean 3 off and on too. I never did beat it...and I never really did get very far because I knew what was coming (horrible plot twist -.-) but I'm slowly getting there. Very slowly. >.> But now we have Star Ocean: The First Departure and I wonder now what I'll be doing. Well, it's nice to have too much to play instead of not being able to decide what I want to do. ...well wait, I guess that hasn't changed.

I gotta download LOTRO now, I guess. I got Star Ocean: First Departure on the 21st. It's zomg fantastic, it's an exact clone of the SO2 engine, and I'm loving it. Voice acting seems pretty good, and the gameplay is just as enjoyable as it was in SO2. There's a ton of characters to recruit in this, I think more than SO2 had before. Unfortunately the guide I got with it makes it rather confusing on how it explains how character recruitment affects other possible recruits down the line. So far, I opted to get Cyuss, cuz he's the studly man muffin of the game, and Ioshua, because I'm in dire need of a mage right now. I'm not struggling as bad as I was when I first played the game on Emulator... Roddick still kicks ass in the new version. He's extremely alike Claude from SO2, some of the same abilities, and overall good stats. I hope he gets as tanky in this game as he did in the emulator. I'm going to try to get the same characters I got in my first play through this time around, so I can compare them to the emulator. I have room for one more after that, it will probably be Welch, cuz I'm dying to see the finger stick of doom in action. In short, if you loved Star Ocean 2, I highly recommend getting this. I'm just loving it.

On the subject of other MMOs... Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 3 has been OFFICIALLY announced by BioWare and Lucas Arts. Only its won't be called KotOR 3 but rather just "The Old Republic". The game is set a few centurys after the second game and a few centurys before The Phantom Menace which makes me wonder how they will even continue the story from where the second game left off. Speaking of story there will be one. Making it one of the few MMOs with a plot to follow. As long as it doesn't make players endure hours of bullshit, like Final Fantays XI did to see how the story unfolds, I am totally sold. Since its by BioWare and not Sony I'm expecting it won't suck, like Star Wars: Galaxies did

Ive been playing Fable 2.
So far my character is looking pretty neat. He has a black coat, with a black wizards hat. Also has these huge freaking horns growing out of his head and blue lines forming all over his body. Something about my rampage through Browerstone I dunno.
My current title is the Executioner.
Its a lot of fun. However I am a bit irritated with some things. One of the things they wanted to fix in fable 2 would be the constant loading from fable 1. Hmm I still have to load every 5 seconds it seems. The areas are slightly bigger, but you still see the loading screen as much as you play it seems.
Another complaint, its too damn linear. He wanted to open up the world to us, give us an Oblivion type experience. Um no. Running along a path with the occasional side path does not open equal.
So far those are my only two gripes. I have progressed through a lot of the story, it is of course generic, but I do so enjoy the aspect of being evil. I am currently purchasing every piece of property i can in the town so that I can jack up the rent 100% and earn a nice income. You even earn money when not playing.
Something about this is apparently causing me to become Corrupt. Who knew?
This little brat came up and kicked my dog last night. Yeah I killed her. I mean come on. She started it! The massacre that occurred after it was just because the guards wouldn't listen to me. I was defending my dog... Who just happens to have glowing red eyes and a jet black coat now... Where did that come from?
Apparently there are not as many armor/weapon options as we had hoped. I look pretty cool so far so it isn't really upsetting, but I have had a hard time finding new pieces of armor. I sort of was hoping for a bit more I guess.
It is a pretty fun game, I will never play the online due to not having a gold account, or the fact that my hero cannot transfer to other peoples game worlds. I would show up as a generic henchmen. Ugh.
Im going to try and get Little Big Planet today.
In other games, I started playing Eternal Sonata. I learned very quickly if the enemies in an area are too easy, don't get a big head cause boss fights will still totally kick your ass if you don't have a strategy.
The game is a lot of fun. I had to get used to the battle system but now I really like it. The Light/Dark stuff is interesting, and building up points to unleash a devastating specail attack is pretty damn awesome.
One huge complaint I have so far. I am running around ,getting a good feel for the people so far, starting to get immersed in the game world and BAM here is a cut scene with pictures of real world places and text. A soft piano plays in the background and its telling us about the real Chopin. it really took me out of the game.
Other than that I don't really have any complaints. I'm not far enough into the story to really know what is going on.
I am happy I waited to get this game on the PS3. It has a bunch of extra stuff and extended story scenes that the 360 wont get. Everyone is saying this is the true version of the game. Lucky me!
