Most of the Suikoden games have a single final boss. Or at least, if the boss fights are close together, it's not a different version of the same entity or person. Well, at least for some of the games in the series. I don't think I've EVER struggled with a final boss... but I know why, I like to level up to the maximum level. I need to pick up another console game. I'm considering trying to get FF4 DS when it is released, but I dunno. Speaking of the Suikoden series, I have really got to finish Suikoden Tactics so I can get back to Suikoden 5, which I thought was the best thing since sliced bread. The series hasn't had a storyline that interesting since Suikoden 2. All of the games had fantastic stories, but there is just something about those two that really grip you. Gotta stop rambling now...

In the numerical series of Final Fantasy I can think of only two games that had multiple final boss battles one after another. Six and Eight. The rest were either one or two. Which is standard RPG. Although I havn't played the Tactics games to know anything about that.
Eh, heh, and I remember Parasite Eve had about 4 boss battles at the end. And thats not even including the optional one in the Chrysler Building. I want to play that series again someday.

The multiple boss things at the end of games don't tend to bother me. Probably 'cause of the same reason they don't bother Steph. I over level and they become pushovers. >.> As long as they're fair though, I'm not really too upset. I like the whole idea of battling multiple forms. Anyways, I finished Ys: Oath in Felghana before I went on holiday. Was a great game. Really, really enjoyed every single second of it. Am thoroughly looking forward to the next game to come out. Gunna play through the game on hard soon. Dunno if I will start tonight or tomorrow. But definitely want to go through it again. I'm looking forward to the extra challenge. While the game wasn't push over easy, it really wasn't difficult. A good balance I guess. Wonder how hard will shape up though... Other than that, I got nothing on the go. Might invest in MGS4 soon, or wait for Persona 4 to come out.. But meh, not really too excited about anything at the min. :/

Ah, I dunno. I would suggest MGS 2 and 3 before 4. Up to you obviously but I don't know how much sense the story would make if you hadn't played those prior. So there's gonna be a Persona 4. I heard about that. And its on PS2. Is Atlus scared of the currrent gen of consoles? I still need to get that crazy edition of Persona 3. And speaking of which i still have Persona 2 untouched. Damn! XD Anyways, I'm not playing Halo 3 on Heroic. I tried but I can't even beat the first level. There are way too many enemys and no matter how far away from you they are they have perfect shooting. Not to mention that almost every area is littered with snipers. I will play again on Normal to get the skulls I guess. I tried Street Fighter online. Hell, people are GODS at this game. I was matched agains't this one guy who chose Zangief so i figured I'd go with Chun-Li and kick his ass for an easy win. NOT! I got raped! I have never been beaten that badly by Zangief. Whether it be someone else or agains't the computer. That was nuts! I will get better eventually.

Multiple bosses are only annoying to me when they overdo it (Kingdom hearts being an example. I think it had 5 different parts to it when it was all said and done). Even worse when the final form is a huuuuuuge pushover compared to some of the earlier versions (Lost odyssey's last boss was a JOKE compared to the fight before it).
Anyways, I've pretty much wrapped up Eternal Sonata. The most surprising about this game was that Motoi Sakuraba didn't use the drum ONCE for the music! At least none that I heard. The game was fun, albeit easy on the first run through. I hear its second quest is brutal, so I'll definitely look forward to a challenge. If only I could turn off the in battle voices!

Yes, Kingdom Hearts did go overboard on the bosses at the end. Which is why I felt, and still feel, the game drags on and on and on towards the end.
I have a 360 now so Lost Odyssey will be in my future.

Lovin the 360. I downloaded the classic TMNT arcade game and played that. Some of the achievments are nuts. Like rescueing Splinter without getting hit by the flame thrower, trying to beat Tragg without losing over 20 health, trying to beat Krang without going over 10 health and the one I thought would be super hard but was actually quite easy, beat Shredder without getting transformed into a baby turtle. I'm still working on a few of those. Also downloaded Symphony of the Night. I played only just a little bit but I can see why this is considered the best Castlevania ever. The music is excellent, the graphics are damn good, and the gameplay itself just feels a lot more intense than the GBA games. Like this one is actually harder. I like that. The voice acting sucks. That's to be expected though. Also still plugging away at Final Fantasy III on the NES emulator. Upgraded my Warrior to Knight and my Monk to Karateka (but he'll be a Dark Knight soon). I'm really loving this old school FF3. Unlike FF2, 3 feels like a true successor to FF1. And I love just how simple the game is with how it tells its story. How the game describes certain scenes with text instead of trying to animate everything. "Elia gets down on her knees and prays to the Water Crystal" for example. Its fun

I decided to go retro and hooked up my NES emulator again to check out some of those ninja gaiden games everyone raves about. Good freaking lord are they tough. I beat the first, although it took forever cuz when you die at the boss, you have to start over from scratch. Then I started up the 2nd and it seemed drastically easier. Which is a good thing. I got to the end of that game a lot faster than I did the first. And without as much swearing Maybe I'll fire up the 3rd after a bit. The first two were addicting.

Glad to hear that. I've been curious about those games aa well. They go for huge amounts of cash on eBay so i may just emulate them as well if I ever decide to try em. Unless they are on the VC. We'll see.
I'm almost done with FF3 here. The game is shorter than I thought. Either that or its cause I'm not playing WoW as much as I used to but I am very close to the end. I just need to grind some more, get the secret summons (Leviathan, Odin and Bahamut), get the two secret jobs, Ninja and Sage though I don't plan on using them cause they are too cheap and make the final dungeon easier than it should be. But FF3 has been fun. The story is simple but its better than I thought it would be. Its the first FF that has sort of a philosophical (sp?) side to it.

Norfair, I'm pretty sure Ninja Gaiden 1 & 2 are up on the VC. Oh and I agree that the Ninja Gaiden games are cool. I have the first one for the NES. HARD game (all of them are. from the NES games all the way through to the Xbox/etc games. especially the newer ones are hard). Anyway, haven't played anything yet today. I'll probably play some Animal Crossing: Wild World tonight. And tomorrow: Final Fantasy 4 DS comes out!!! DF2506 " Just saw the Dark Knight! Wow! THAT was awesome."

Ninja Gaiden games aren't that hard (on normal mode, anyways...) It's just if you don't take the time to LEARN the game, you will get raped. >.>

I got FINAL FANTASY 4 DS today! And its great. The graphics are top notch, the voice-acting is really good (can be a little bit over-dramatic, but I like it), the gameplay is classic (feels just like the orignal FF4), Whyt is fun, etc. I'm enjoying the game alot. So is my dad. As for where I'm at, I currently have Cecil, Rydia, and Edward in my party. I'm heading toward the Antlion cave to save Rosa. This is a really great game. It was with the orignal and its even better now imo. DF2506

I forget which Ninja Gaiden I played but I was like 6 or something at the time and that was *the* hardest game EVAR at the time. And I own Captain Skyhawk. And that's a lesson in futility.
I've been jumping around games. I got back to where I quit Prime 3 the first time and...lost interest again. Maybe it's just something about that part of the game. Eh I WILL beat it eventually. I started a new FFXII file but I lost interest in that too and then started .hack//GU again.
I think I'm just bored. >.> I gotta find something to keep my attention for longer than 3 hours.

I hope to get FF4 DS later today. I need to charge up my DS though... I take back what I said about never struggling with a final boss. I forgot about Star Ocean 2's final boss, if you did the cutscenes to make him stronger. Maximum level and he can still wipe you out. That fight is about luck, pure and simple.

Having a lot of fun with FF4 DS.
Cecil is a Paladin now. He's nowhere as good as he use to be, but I have Yang, the twins, and Tellah, so thats ok.
I'm in Baron now. I have to fight that traitor and the fake king again. The fake king beat me up baaaad. lol.
Such a great game though. Definitly glad I got it.
