Yesterday, I went to the Tower of Zot and beat the two boss battles there. Suprisingly, the boss battles were pretty easy (especially when compared to the Dark Elf/Dark Dragon).
Today, I went to the Underworld and fought the Dolls & Goblez (still not as hard as the Dark Elf/Dark Dragon). Then I raided the castle & even got to the visit the Developer's Office (fun). Next up: the Tower of Babel!

I'm playing FF4 here now too but mine is still 2D. I am having fun. right where DF is here. I beat the dolls and Golbez and little Rydia is all growed up now. I don't recall there being a Developers Room in the GBA version so none of that for me unfortanatly. Although I think there was a develpers room somewhere in the original SNES FF4 in Japan. Not sure if that got cariied over to any of the American rereleases of the game or not.

I remember walking through the developers room in some version... Whether it was the GBA version or the PS1 version eludes me, however. It's in the dwarfs castle in the basement I believe... God my memory sucks any more

There's a Dev room in the SNES version but there are fewer NPCs and it just seems like any other room. The Dev Room in the PSX version is the original Dev Room from the JP version, complete with Smut.

Yep. I remember the Developer's Room from the PS1 verison of FF4. The developer's room in FF4 DS is a bit different. Oh and you can even get an Augment in the developer's room! So ya, there is a reason to go to the developer's room this time (other then talking with the developer's. lol). Anyway, I went to the Tower of Babel, beat that, went back to the Overworld, and now...I'm headed back to the Underworld again. lol. Pretty soon I'm going to run into Edge! DF2506

I'm at the point in FFIV where DF got stuck now, but I'm stuck because I'm trying to get a Rainbow Pudding for Cheatingway the Two-timer. That Moogle is...something else... I struggled with Cagnazzo this time, for the first time ever. It took me a good 15-20 minutes to kill him because he slowed my entire party, and the game setting was on the slowest possible. Also repeatedly wiped out Palom, Porom, and Yang with Tsunami because Cecil and Tellah couldn't interrupt the spell sometimes. I didn't get the upper hand until he played turtle boy and shelled up. I did get Palom and Porom's augments this time. Dualcast is well worth the effort, however I'm waiting to give it to Rosa as the guide suggests. I gave Porom Auto-Potion and Item Lore, but unfortunately, Item Lore did not appear to work for her Healing Staff like I hoped. I was going to load my previous save but the battle I was in dropped Cockatrice... so I changed my mind. What I'm finding pretty interesting is that I'm farming this Rainbow Pudding item in the Antlion's Den, and I'm still leveling up and a pretty decent rate! Tellah is now 32, I hope to get him and the others a little stronger so I can have an easy time in the Tower of Zot. I'm OK with "losing" the other characters now like you did in the original. With this new Augment system, you can make Cecil, Kain, Rydia, Rosa, and Edge absolute power houses like never before. Cecil can be a real tank too, give him Draw Attacks + Reach + Brace + Counter and sit back and enjoy. Can't wait to try it.

I heard the DS version is super hard. i saw a video of a guy trying to beat Zeromus at level 80 and couldn't do it. In the GBA version, level 80 is roughly when you beat the side dungeon and Zeromus EG. So eitehr the game is super hard or the guy I watched just flat out sucks. In any case, the videos I've been watching don't appear to show you what your characters HP is at. Is that displayed on a seperate screen? I am currently ready to enter the Giant of Babel. I just got FuSoYa in my party.

Character HP, ATB, and status are shown on the bottom screen in battles. I agree, the game is much harder than it ever was before. Cagnazzo seriously gave me a hard time, which I felt made me pretty pathetic. Did I mention that now that he is animated he's EXTRA creepy now? His head moves and his lower jaw wiggles around. Just... ew GAWD. I finally got that damn Rainbow Pudding after killing 500 Yellow Puddings and some Red Puddings too. Cheatingway the two-timer is now Puddingway the naive. I lol'd. Just trying to level up before I do the Lodestone Cavern.

Stephanie: I never did get that Rainbow pudding...I really want to get it though, because that augment exchange leads to the Safe Travel augment....(aka: NO random battles!) (the augments are just a great addition imo) You got the pudding at the Antlion's Den? I'll have to go back there sometime if I get the chance... Also: I gave Reach to Edge. But Cecil is great with Draw Attacks + Counter. Ah man. The enemies focus on attacking Cecil and each time they hit him, he hits them back! And Cecil started out pretty awful with that whole Paladin thing, but he's getting MUCH better. Anyway, there are a few augments that I haven't got though, like Duelcast. *sigh* Well, there's always the next playthrough! Man, this game is really great. I'm going to play it some more tonight. I have to go back into the Tower of Babel. DF2506

If you can wait, you may want to wait until the final dungeon to get the Rainbow Pudding, the drop rate on it is slightly higher (1% compared to 0.4%) with the Flan Princesses. Also you get the bonus of getting that awful 0.4% on that tail item too. But by then, the no encounter thing may not be as appealing, unless it follows Cecil over to the next play through, I dunno if it does or not, but I'm guessing it does!

There is something strangely amusing to watch Cid sing... I can't begin to imagine how horrible it must sound. I completed the Lodestone Cavern, and gave Cid Bardsong so I can get his augments when he leaves. Now doing the Tower of Zot, but I got carried away leveling up, so the place isn't a challenge. Everyone is level 41-42 now, thanks to the monsters near overworld Eblan.

I found a dancing montage for the DS version. its funny I think. I'm ready to go through the Lunar Ruins now I believe. I do have some stuff to do first. I need to get Odin and Bahamut and go through the first of the two secret dungeons to get those wepons. This is going fast, I only just hit the 10 hour mark and I'm already almost done.

Last night, I left the Cave of Eldin and went to the Antlion's Den. And after fighting lots and lots and lots and lots and LOTS of Yellow Flan....I GOT THE RAINBOW PUDDING! lol. So, I took the Rainbow Pudding to Puddingway and he was happy. Then, I went back to the Cave of Eldin, fought my way through the Tower of Babil (again), got back to the Dwarves Castle, fought Moppingway and got the new augment, and then I went to a few places in the Underworld (like the Sylph Cave). Now, I'm getting ready to go to the Passage of the Eldieons (sp?). DF2506
